In my opinion, this team had the best team chemistry of a college basketball team I've ever seen. While talented (especially Big John Williams), they were far from the most talented team but got the absolute most out of their ability. One more athlete and a little better offensive strategy and they could have won it all.
I don't think I'll ever enjoy watching a team play more than I enjoyed this one.
Who did we beat in the second round on Wilsons last second shot?

Memphis right?
I think that team is the only team to beat the top 3 teams in their regional on their way to the final four.

Yea I saw that score and then I had to double take at it. Damn.
We're a team full of 6'7 guards who don't like going into the paint at all so they just jack up 3's. It's pretty awesome.

Ross Mouton puts these jokers to shame.

It was Memphis State (they've since dropped State). They were a top 10 team with Keith Lee. I was there and I don't think the PMAC has ever been louder than at that moment.
The entire run to Dallas was unbelieveable:
OT over Purdue
Buzzer beater over Memphis State
Beat GA Tech's Price and Salley at the OMNI (basically a home game for Tech)
Beat UK in closing seconds after losing to them 3 times before
10 point lead on Louisville at half in Semis

I love how it sticks to the narrative. If we think the coach is no good, its always his fault, if its a guy on the team, well then its his.

Memphis State:
We beat Purdue/MSU. Ga Tech/ Kentucky, lost to Louisville.

The best team I saw more than once live was the Phi Slamma Jamma team of 83 with Gettys, Michaux, Franklin, Olajuwon, Drexler. The Georgetown team with Ewing, Grtaham, Wingate, Broadnax was good also. But I think the best college team to watch of all time was the Undefeated until Final 4 UNLV team with Augmon, Johnson, Curry, Hunt, and Anthony. Even though they lost Butler they were even more dominant.

Probably mentioned, but...
'98 Rhode Island with Harrick as the coach, seniors Cuttino Mobley and Tyson Wheeler in the backcourt (Odom came a yr later as a one and done freshman). Crazy that a school like RI had that kind of talent, but Harrick had that kind of pull.
'97 Arizona with Bibby, Simon, Michael Dickerson, Jason Terry, Bennett Davison, AJ Bramlett...that team was stacked. I liked Dickerson in the NBA, but his knees were too fragile.
'96 UK was stacked
'01 Arizona with Loren Woods (slipped from potential top 10 pick to second round that yr), Gilbert Arenas, Richard Jefferson, Luke Walton, Jason Gardner...Salim Stoudemire, Will Bynum and Channing Frye were on the roster. These were the players they got after winning the '97 NC.
And of course, Gene Edgerson...

didn't he come off the bench for that team?

Can't remember but I doubt it.
And my yrs ran together...Wheeler and Mobley led the '98 team to the Elite 8 where they lost Stanford. Odom came the next yr and they lost in the first round.
