For those wondering, here is the appropriate way to deal with times from a stopwatch held by your coach: everything gets rounded up. 4.51 goes to 4.6, 4.54 goes to 4.6, 4.57 goes to 4.6. After that, an additional .24 is added to the time to approximate the difference between a stopwatch and a laser timer.
I posted this earlier. However what many people don't know is that the addition of .24 was done using EXPERIENCED timers at world class meets. I've run the FAT timing system at our home track meets for years. Just for fun, I frequently compare the back-up hand held times to the FAT times. We hire teachers and coaches to be our back-up timers. Without fail the hand held times are .3-.4 seconds slower AFTER rounding up. Thus, a 11.53 hand held time is usually around a 11.95 FAT time.
These 40 yard dash time are believable if one assumes they are hand held times. A 4.65 hand held is probably close to a 5.05 FAT. A 4.47 HH is about a 4.85 FAT.

What's funny is the ones that are upset that most people on an anonymous message board don't believe them, and are breaking their necks to prove shite to us ..
In reality, the best athletes on this board, along with the smartest, and wealthiest never post in these threads and are just unassuming posters that couldn't care less what Internet posters know about them or think of them ... These people in here are stretching the truth longer than the Cubs World Series drought ..

You made up some bullshite story on the OT about your neighbor's wife -- who of course is a 9.8 MILF -- always answers the door for you in a skimpy t-shirt and thong ..
But there's no way you would be exaggerating this .. NO WAY !!

Did you play with or did you remember a black running back at Ouachita by the last name of Jacobs I believe? This was in 98'.. He was a pretty darn good back.

In our defense, HS lineman can weigh any where between 160 to 220 (then legit OL/DL 240+) but yea...

Apparently anyone who claims to have run below a 4.8 in high school is full of shite because they obviously should have played/should be playing college ball.
Not true. I was 130 pounds running a 4.6. I had two guys both 200 ponds both running a 4.5 and 4.4 ahead of me on the depth chart. Both playing college ball now one for Arkansas by way of Juco the other NC A&T. I've never enjoyed the conditioning for track so I never ran it. I do always feel like I did waste my speed. All I do now is boss at intramural football... I know bad asss haha

Huh? WTF are you talking about? Must have me confused with someone else. I'm saying these times are possible if they are hand held. Add .3 to .4 seconds and they are very believable. What did I claim for myself?

Bryant Jacobs was his name.

A 4.6 hand held when you are a college track athlete? Are you kidding me? This isn't believable to you? I've been around track my whole life. At that time I ran an 11.3 100, so a 4.6 hand held is exactly in range. I'm not sure you even read my posts on converting HH to FAT times.
