Its true. Big pappi and others tried to do it with juiced bats and balls and still couldnt get it within 10 rows of the spot.

Not going to lie that sounds fake.
Very few sounds are better than the crack of a bat but that just sounds off.
Edit: I'm not saying it is fake, just sounds that way.

The interview of Ortiz talking about this is hilarious. Worth a YouTube search if you get bored.

I think a mostly empty stadium will produce a different sound than a full stadium. The sound will echo off the plastic seats rather than be absorbed by the fans.

As someone who watched the game, it wasn't just this hit by Yor-God, there were quite a few balls hit that made strange sounds like that.
Maybe the microphone was positioned differently last night?

The most impressive sound I ever heard from a hitter was when I watched Mark Prior (yes, the pitcher) taking BP in Houston one night. He crushed every single ball, it was wild.

Boston can’t afford him. They couldn’t even afford Devers

Astros have the most bizarre fanbase. There’s no middle ground at all. They’re either extremely knowledgeable and worth discussing ball with or borderline retarded.

Obviously Yordan is big and powerful but is the sound more about not hitting the good part of bat?
Almost sounds like the bat broke
