The top 3 greatest players in NBA history are Magic, Bird, and Jordan in whatever order you wish to put them in. No other players even come close to the importance of those 3.

Over the years many people have been so iconic that they are known by just one name. Synonymous with that name.
But Michael Jordan is the only athlete that I know of that is synonymous with a number. If you asked 100 sports fans what is the first thing they thought of when they heard the number 23, at least 99 would say Micheal Jordan. He is beyond an icon, he's legendary.
