Meh. He has like a 0.55 ERA in save situations this year and is 50/50 in saves. That is good I don't care who you are.

It is, but guys are getting on. ERA is partially luck, obviously. Once guys get on, your chances of giving up a run get higher and higher and he's been somewhat risky in that aspect. Reminds me slightly of Soriano last year. He was average for a few years, got lucky in TB, then reverted back.

Valverde is a solid closer though, no doubt about that.

I don't know if he should have made the comments he did, but not sure if it makes him dumb.

It was a dumb thing to say. The Yankees are motivated to win...every team in the postseason is. He just added a little fuel. It isn't a big deal though, I like a little shite talking.

Well he hasn't played well this series for sure. But if we are talking about the season:

1. 50 save opportunities is enough of a statistical sample that luck shouldn't play much of a role.

2. His WHIP (1.19) matches his ERA well (2.24). It isn't like he has an awful WHIP and keeps getting lucky. Rivera (the best of all time) has WHIP/ERA (0.9/1.9) which is scaled about the same.

Guy on MLB Radio earlier:

"I'd say the Yankees are slightly more aggressive on the base paths, they may push some tonight, but don't underestimate the Tigers...they can run too"

NYY: 147 SB 4th in league
Detroit: 49 SB...dead last in the league

ONE stolen base could change the game. But I doubt Leyland does anything like that. POWER and PITCHING WILL lead the Tigers to a win. I think NOVA CHOKES!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said BEFORE. GAME FACE.

I'm still here. There were explosions going on at the ammunition plant near my house, went outside to see what's up.

Because I talked to my neighbor. His brother works out there and they're doing controlled explosions or some shite. Nothing dangerous to me.
