But it would have been sweet to see The two aces going at it again in a game 5 thurs.
That wouldn't have happened anyways.
Sabathia was slated to start Game 4 before the rainout mess.
But I agree with you.. FWIW. It would've been cool to see.

Meh. Neither are good postseason pitchers.
Verlander: 5.58 ERA 1.533 WHIP 2.33 SO/BB
Sabathia: 4.78 ERA 1.594 WHIP 1.77 SO/BB
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING....Burnett is a better postseason pitcher than Verlander
Burnett: 5.08ERA 1.410WHIP 1.35 SO/BB
But oddly enough, probably the best "postseason starter pitcher" in the series?
Freddy. Friggin. Garcia.
3.28ERA 1.309WHIP 2.32 SO/BB

FIFY
Thanks Srbtiger,
Love always,

It was implied
Mo's postseason ERA amazes me. 0.71. 1/3 of his regular season ERA. To make it more impressive, it isn't some tiny sample size.
140IP
That's 2 average seasons for him!

Question for all Yankee fans:
Will Nova be as good as CMW (before his injury)?

I think so. He was already on par this season with Wang's 2 best seasons statistically.
If he can be a 200+ inning guy like Wanger was those 2 years.
Obviously he isn't really a strikeout pitcher so he'll need to keep the walks low. I'd like to see him drop his BB/9 down a little bit, he was 3.1 this year. If he can do that, he'll be right on par with CMW IMO.
He is pretty consistent though. You can't find many major holes in his splits.

Same. I don't have photoshop over here either.
Just seems like a perfect picture to mess with.

Wang: 3.63/3.70 ERA, 218/199 Innings pitched, 125/122 ERA+, 1.307/1.294 WHIP
vs
Nova: 3.70 ERA, 165 Innings pitched, 119 ERA+, 1.331 WHIP
Nova does strike out more per 9, and walks a little more per 9 than what Wang did. I like the make up of Nova, unlike Hughes/Joba he just seems to know how to pitch and does not get flustered.

I really think Rothschild has gotten Hughes & Joba on the right path.
Joba was SLIGHTLY improved last year from 2009. Slightly. Granted that was with Eiland but still, it wasn't a regression. This year he looked pretty solid before the injury.
Hughes steadily improved as the season progressed and I think he can be a solid 4/5 next year. I don't think he'll ever hit that weak Ace/strong #2 cap that he was projected to early, but he can be a decent pitcher. We'll need him next year.
CC (we'll re-up him for Lee money and add a year or two. 24-25 through 2017)
Nova
Burnett
Hughes/Garcia/FA
Possible FA Pitchers
Yu Darvish - I effing hate everything about bidding/signing/etc. these Japanese League guys, but I guarantee we make a strong run.
Duchscherer - Project guy but I'd look at it.
CJ Wilson - We'll make a move but I don't like it. He'll want AJ/Lackey money+ and he's on the wrong side of 30.
Buehrle - I could maybe live with it
Kuroda - No
Webb - I think he's done
Edwin Jackson - IDK
Possible Trades
Felix - Ain't happening but I can dream
Kershaw - Supposedly isn't happy in LAD (can't blame him). They're shite and need low cost options, Cashman needs to at least make the call.

yes

I read this article and the entire time, I kept thinking that you could take Doug Fister's name out of that story and put Nova's in there and not really have to change much else....
Anyone agree?
Anyone agree?

Nova will be opposed by Nova, 27, who was rescued from a summer of anonymity and 2-1 losses when Tigers general manager David Dombrowski acquired him from Seattle in a six-player trade on July 30. The deal was one of three moves by Dombrowski that filled voids on the roster and helped Detroit go 38-16 in August and September and pull away in the American League Central.
no.

looks like Laurence Fishburn as well

Ordonez will be starting in right with Kelly playing third.
Well that is a crappy lineup. Why would Kelly play over Inge. Inge is a better 3rd baseman and as bad of a hitter as he is, he has played well (and better than Kelly) this series.
