I liked RAB's idea about a Montero - Pineda one for one swap.

I know it's not going to happen, but still a good idea.

M's need offense, we need pitching.

I'm looking forward to seeing Nova this season. I'm praying he can be the pitcher he was after the demotion for a full season, and not the pitcher he was before it.

Yanks re-sign Garcia for 4 million, Royals re-sign Chen for 9 million

I know right, just throwing money away to throw it away, I bet we could trade AJ straight up for Chen. AJ makes What 16.5 million next year? Pocket change for a free spending team like Royals.

AJ

I like it but I've always enjoyed Cot's. It has all the BS on the contracts like "will have 2 bowls of Cocoa Puffs in locker at all home games"

Couple rumors floating around that we'll go for Danks. Chicago wants to deal Thornton BAD and we could slam a package deal there. Take on Thornton's shitty contract and lower the price on Danks.

Add a starter we want.
Add another lefty reliever.

Chicago drops $12-million off the books with Thornton.
Gets prospects.

We have an older version of garza in Burnett. Streaky as hell but when he is on he can be dominant

Several things about that deal:

1) Theo-Cashman. Would they deal? I know it is Cubs-Yankees, but Theo and Cashman have bad blood.

2) He was an average pitcher in Tampa. Nothing special. IDK if he'd be a big enough upgrade over AJ to really trade for.

I would rather do a Danks deal than a Garza deal. Thornton doesn't have a very good deal but it'd be a lefty in the pen and Danks, IMO, would be a better pitcher for NY than Garza.

My thoughts exactly.

I don't think the prospects would be a big hurdle for a Danks deal. He was $6-million this year and I would expect slightly higher. Most places have projected him in the 8-10 range. Thornton is 6 for 2 years. It is no secret that CWS want to get rid of Thornton and if we took him off their hands that'd help the price on Danks.

I would take Danks and have Hughes as 6th man type deal. Put him back in bullpen with Joba
