Alvarez wins WS MVP.

he had some decent at bats , worked the count but results matter and ( other than one RBI and working the count ) didnt help

but Springer and Bregman both had weak series and I would gladly have them up at the plate when we need a hit

and FWIW,, I knew Altuve was gonna hit a HR,, just somehow I knew it

I cried like a bitch this morning when I watched the interviews by Altuve and how his team mates talked about him.

His off the cuff non rehearsed, non planned reaction when asked immediately after the game about winning the game with homer was to say “We won the game not because I hit a homer. Yuli hit a three-run homer. Michael Brantley made a really good play. Springer just walked”

He could have basked in the glory of a hall of fame moment and no one would have batted an eye but instead shined the spotlight on other key plays from his teammates. Incredible talent and an incredible model for kids playing the game

Anybody think Miley could be on the WS roster?

I'm sure he's been working on his stuff. He's gotten a lot of rest since Game 3 of the ALDS in which he pitched about 3 innings. That's his only outing since September 26th, so if he was suffering from fatigue late in the season, he should have gotten plenty of rest by now.

It would be very helpful if Wade Miley could give a solid outing in game 4 of the World Series and not have to burn all of the relief pitchers. If he pitches like arse just have a short leash and make it a bullpen day anyway with Urquidy and others.

Why not give it a shot? They didn't even use Rondon or Abreu in the ALCS...

Abreu pitched in game 1 and got lit. I don't want Miley. I trust devenaki. More than him and that's not saying a lot.

I don't want last 15% of the season Miley. But the first 85% of the season Miley was a bad motherfricker.

He's had a lot of time to rest and work on his pitches. We know what he's capable of, so why not give him a shot in game 4? If he sucks, just bring in Urquidy like they would have done anyway.

And really, it was just his last 5 games that were bad. Now, they were REALLY bad, but his other 28 games were great.

We have a game legit 4 starting pitcher if he can pitch like he did for 85% of the season.

Miley's career numbers against current Nationals aren't good. Will be curious to see if they even think he'd have value as a LOOGY.

You kind of have to disregard most of his career because he didn't get pretty good until a couple years ago when he discovered his cutter.

This is true but I think the decision comes down to whether they want him on the roster as a matchup lefty and low leverage long reliever.

It was too perfect that Altuve hit that home run last night. Biggio and Bagwell are the icons of the franchise, royalty around MMP...statues out front. Altuve has cemented himself into that group. Theres so many legendary moments of the franchise that Altuve has been involved in

Batting title
Hit records
MVP
Post season HRs
Fielded the final out of our first WS title

It was too perfect that he hit the walkoff HR.
