Y'all do know B. Griner will be prisoner swapped in like a month, right?

Everyone celebrating her sentence is going to be in for a giantly rude awakening when she is swapped for the guy Lord of War was based on right before the mid-terms.
OK, she did spend a few months in a Russian hell hole, but she is going to be treated to glowing ESPN and WNBA courage award pieces for the rest of her life.
The White House will also trot her out to the Rose Garden for PR purposes in early-mid October and we will all be subjected to hundreds of tear-filled staged photos and videos, and athlete of the year awards at the ESPYs and Oscar red carpet appearances and Amnesty International ambassadorships and Netflix docs for eternity.
Enjoy it now because you will all be flying off the handle when she comes back to the US in about 6 weeks in exchange for one of the worst humans of the last 30 years.

She doesn't deserve her sentence, but are we positive Russia is going to cooperate? Honest question. Seems as if many think it's a forgone conclusion that this "swap" will be successful.

Seriously. With how weak Biden is, Putin will probably take Merchant of Death and just keep Greiner anyway just because he knows he can

Makes sense. A WNBA player is more important than a guy subsidizing conflicts in Africa to kill thousands of black people.

I don’t enjoy that’s she’s in this situation and I think her sentence is very disproportionate to her crime, but you’re absolutely right about how this will be handled. She will be used for political gain by the Biden administration and in exchange for that she will receive a lifetime of praise from the sports world and beyond, endorsements and Netflix royalties.
