Theres a lot of murders out there that have never been convicted. That somehow makes them a better person than someone who robbed something and ended up in jail? I must just be missing your point here
My point has nothing to do with murder because as far as I'm concerned the guy is innocent. My point is he has a redeeming factor going for him. You or anyone else can't say they were the same level head person as a kid or young adult as they were as an adult. OJ is old as shite and still up to no good, but Ray Lewis has taking his life and turned it around for the better. Aside from murder, which both were proving innocent, how can your hate for OJ be the same for Ray Lewis?

What is he redeeming if you think hes innocent?

The type of person to indulge in the behavior him and his posse were apart of. The type of person to get caught up in a murder case, I mean it could happen to anybody but the chances are lower if you live the right way. That's what he is redeeming.

^ that is the real reason I hate Ray Lewis
I dont think he did it actually (athough i think he was an accomplice) but that phony crap like that ticks me off something good

Ray Lewis plea bargained down to misdemeanor in turn for his testimony against his friends. He did so and got probation. His friends were acquitted.

So since you don't like the way he exemplifies his passion, it's phony. Okay.

I don't understand the hate, other than maybe...
Posted on 1/20/13 at 10:34 pm to wildtigercat93
tons of players get shite for not giving a frick about the games and just collecting a paycheck. Ray Lewis actually does care and gets more shite than any of them.

quote:I never said that. I said people hate Tebow because of his over-the-top preaching. It isn't that he's religious... it's that his religion and himself in general, is "shoved down our throats".
claiming people hate Tebow because of his religion is most certainly a strawman.
quote:And I just disagree with that. People hate both Tebow and Lewis for their over-the-top personalities.
This is just wrong. People hate Tebow because he is shoved down their throats. They hate Lewis because of the murder case.

He turned snitch on his friends for a plea deal. The suit he was wearing that night, the white one that reportedly had blood all over it, mysteriously disappeared.
Just to add to his resume, this man of god has six children with four different women.

I don't hate Ray Lewis. I also don't think that he killed those two young guys in Atlanta that night. I do believe that he knew exactly what happened and was a major part in the cover up and saving his friends from life in prison. Yes, he plead down to a misdemeanor obstruction charge, but even then his testimony was vague.
As a football player, he was bad arse for a long time. The last time they won the Super Bowl, he was a truly electric player. He is obviously far removed from being a super stud on the field, but his accomplishments will leave him in the conversation as the best LB of all time.
He is over the top, but the NFL loves that because he is a great marketer of the game.
As far as Tebow, there is little comparison between the two other than the fact that they both acknowledge their love of Jesus in public. Until it comes out that Tebow has been sleeping with little boys in the offseason he is truly an individual who is a role model to the public. Ray has been a great football player, but will always have the stain of those two dead guys in Atlanta on his reputation, innocent or not.

That isn't the point though, he has obviously changed who he is for the better. OJ is in jail
why did he change if he wasn't involved?

Now, me I hate Tebow because of that faggy jump pass he did against LSU, but it has nothing to do with his religion.
Haha, THIS. I guess we all hate him for the same reason.
As far as Ray Ray, where's the white suit? I don't think he killed anyone but for people to think he was completely innocent in the whole thing is a bit ridiculous.
The guy got a 2nd chance and has lived his life to the fullest. He's way too over the top though and I can't wait to be done with seeing him fake cry and overact. Even his teammates look like they're tired of it sometimes.
