Stop. Heads up when he had AK against KK he rivered the ace. Very lucky. That’s not GOAT

Those kind of spots happen all the time in MTTs. He got lucky as hell no doubt but he decided to take the aggressive option each time and was rewarded for it.
Greatest run in WSOP history and you know it's true because of the hall of fame showing up immediately when he won. Phil Ivey shows up for no one he doesn't respect.

It always takes some luck at one time or another.
As in team sports, your record says who you are. He had 7 bracelets and 2 wpt titles prior to this win. He’s already proven himself.
You’ll see poker flash in the pans who may get hot for one year, then disappear. Guys like him are steady winners thru the years, so it’s really not luck in the long run.

Yup, rivering an A when holding AK isn’t lucky. Lots of people stay in the hand with AK if the cost isn’t high hoping to catch a K or an A on the river.

I get it but he’ll he had one all in where he had 23% odds to win and he did. Now when he had the chip lead he applied maximum pressure which was skill.

There should be textbooks written about how badly Hallaert played that final table. Came in with a strong 2nd place stack and just let it melt away. Way too passive. Pre-flop call, check, call, check, call, check, big bet, fold. Rinse and repeat until Mizrachi cleaned him out.

Yeah, it kinda is. NTTAWWT. To beat 9-10k people ya gotta get lucky on some hands.

Knowing the way I run sometimes, I win the first 9 and then lose the 90%'er heads up.
