Good luck getting a floor. At least 1/3 of the owners don't even try to compete.
Yeah, I'm looking at you POS Castellini's. You've destroyed the once proud Reds.

You mean the deferred dodgers are good for baseball?
Brewers are doing pretty good with a lower payroll

they learned from St.Louis, as a Midmarket club who won
develop, win with pitching, they took it to another level, because of market, and sell on players to fill gaps and rerun it every other year or so.

I tried to warn you guys years ago this is what “analytics” was all about, capping salaries.
"Analytics" have been used to determine a players worth since the beginning of the sport. They are just more advanced now, and can determine a players' worth more accurately.
Analytics have literally zero to do with the cap, though.

Since 2000 MLB has seen more teams win a championship (15) than the NFL (14), NBA (12), and NHL (12). Simple argument here is that parity is demonstrably best represented by the league without a salary cap.
The playoffs are a crapshoot. The Yankees haven’t had a losing season in 30+ years.

The best teams in MLB on an average season win around 60-64% of their games. NHL’s best teams are around 70%, NBA is usually 75%, and NFL is 75-85% most years.
The Yankess haven’t had a losing season since 1992 and have only missed the postseason 5 times in the last 30 years. Its not because they’ve just been that much better than everyone else at drafting and developing talent in their minor league farm system. They’ve had a payroll that was top 3 highest in MLB for 14 of the last 15 years. They consistently have been willing and able to outspent everyone else to afford the best roster money can buy.
Show me an example in any other major pro league where a team in one of the biggest markets has been able to sustain that level of success over such a long period with no real major fall offs because they just keep spending more money on their roster than most of the competition can even afford.

Fu k Curt Flood and his ‘legacy’

You are right about some owners just refusing to compete, but what do you do, strip them of ownership? Would that pass legal scrutiny?
Just dream up a good scandal. Works for the NFL and NBA. Both have stripped multiple owners of their franchise. This "floor" argument has been had for decades and yet still we have it. They're gonna do nothing to the worthless owners just in it for the profit. And they'll do nothing to the large markets who make the league profitable. Baseball is all about tradition after all.

Don’t need a cap (yet), but def need a floor… and they need to figure out how to handle the deferred money thing when it comes to competitive balance.
