Rooting for OU in anything (against former soviet union, etc..) is nearly impossible. LSU really doesn't have a rivalry with the level of intensity as that one. Somehow Texas fans have to do it from here on and hope for some help from the polls.

Texas is pretty much a longshot for the MNC game. I'm a-feared the voters will bump OU above us. We are probably Fiesta bound vs. Utah or somesuch.

The tiebreaker for the Big12 south division for a three way tie will be the teams BCS ranking at the end of the regular season.Thats right the conference will depend on outside sources to determine who to send to the CCG and possibly play in the BCSCG.

No way. UT should be ranked ahead of OU for reasons already mentioned with the most important being winning the head-to-head match up. The only way this could even possibly not be the case is if OU beats TT by 40+. Then I say you draw a name out of a hat.

And given Texas' propensity for lollipop efforts in Holiday Bowls vs mediocre finesse Pac/WAC/MWC types, I'm sure you'll not cause much fuss over such.

I wouldn't put the Sooners ahead, but I do think the voters will if they also beat the Cowboys on the road.

To me the Sooners fall under my Buckeye Rule: You suck for two years you don't deserve anything worth a damn for at least one year.

if they all have the same record look at the aggregate scores of those matches

but i would still prob have Tx over Ou, but most likely it'll be OU get ranked above UT

Really depends on how much they beat TT by. By 2 or less TDs - no. By 17+, yes.

Then why shouldn't Texas Tech be considered? Tech beat UT heads up. They will have identical records and both will have lost on the road.

The head-to-head argument doesn't logically work in the hypo where OU beats Tech because of the fact that UT beat OU who beat Tech who beat UT.

It's only because people are eliminating Tech with the loss that the head-to-head argument is benefitting UT. But there's no real logic to eliminating Tech other than they lost in November.

What does this mean exactly?

Nope, they're playing in Norman. They would have to decimate them for me to even consider them over Texas, who beat them on the field (a neutral one).

TT should be eliminated in the conversation because they scheduled 2 1AA teams ooc. They have the weakest argument.

No.

But then again I might just be a wee bit biased.

If they beat down TT maybe, b/c they were really robbed on a pivotal play against Texas, not saying that Texas wouldn't have won anyway

3. OU played TCU and Cincinnati non-conference. While not exactly lights out, it kills Texas' non-conference slate of UTEP, Rice and Arkansas.

I would say this favors OU, but it does not kill Texas.

Last night's effort, and momentum has OU playing the best ball in the Big-12 of current, they should be in position to control their destiny.
