Would need to know the final and how it played out. Too dicey for a simple answer pre-game.

no. OU would have won at home while Texas lost on the road. And Texas beat OU straight up on a neutral field.

I still think OU is better than Texas. I don't know what happened to them in the Shootout.

NO, Texas beat OU on a nuetral site and lost AT Texas Tech.
If OU wins, they will be winning at home, NOT on the road.

I think if OU whips TT pretty good AND goes into Stoolwater and whips OSU pretty good, then I'd consider jumping them.

But it's hard considering they did get beat but UT on a neutral field. And UT hasn't exactly slouched either...they trounced Missouri and Kansas (a team that gave OU all they could handle this year)

Yes if Okla had beat texas otherwise no.

In 1979 AP gave Bama NC even though USC beat Bama in Birmingham

Aside from their loss, which they weren't bad in, Texas has been pretty impressive all year. The trouble will occur if Tech loses, there is a three way tie, and OU goes to the title game. Then we have a problem. Because the winner of the conference will likely go the NC game.

It doesn't matter that Texas beat OU. If that's the only basis for saying Texas should go over OU, then it's equally true that Tech should go over Texas because they beat them head to head. And then OU should go over Tech because it beat Tech head to head.

So in making this choice, a voter should consider:

1. Texas' loss to Tech was on the road
2. OU's loss to Texas was on a neutral field

The combination of 1 and 2 is pro-Texas.

3. OU played TCU and Cincinnati non-conference. While not exactly lights out, it kills Texas' non-conference slate of UTEP, Rice and Arkansas.

So item 3 is pro-OU

4. Texas played OU, Missouri, Okie State and Tech--4 top 15 teams (all in a row). OU played Texas and Tech thus far and will play Okie State. OU did not play Missouri.

So item 4 is pro-UT

All in all, I say you have to go with the Horns on this one.

Missouri could win. Missouri has no shot at the title game. OU could jump UT and go and then lose to Missouri. Then what do you do? UT will presumably be next in line but they will not have technically won their own division, let alone their conference. Penn State could be there and with a win Saturday will have won their conference. But LSU could beat Penn State. USC? USC has the best defense in the country and only one loss and Oregon State is not looking bad. But USC might not win the Pac-1 for the first time in years because Oregon State has the tie break even though they have 3 losses. What about an undefeated Utah? Conference champion, no losses. But they have zero talent and play against teams with less talent.

So that's what I'm rooting for. Chaos. For the Big XII South champ (whoever it is) to lose the Big XII championship and watch several teams vie for the right to get mudstomped by Florida in the MNC game.

It would depend on if OU wins by 20+ or more.

An OU win by 17 or less, and I would have to rank Tex over OU by virtue of not only beating them on a neutral field, but by how, from off-the-pace, and out-toughing OU with stops and physicality in the trenches down the stretch.
