No. The current format has always given us a top 16 winning it all since 1988 and top 12 every time save 1997. But, the expanded tourney gives us increased excitement and the ability for the little guy to have a shot on the court.

If that were the case, a lot of schools in division 1 may want to just consider dropping basketball all together. You sound like the guy who only wants the NY or Boston/LA finals or world series. While we're at it, might as well contract professional sports leagues down to 8 teams.

This is preferable to a Utah/Atlanta NBA Finals IMO.
