So what do the Braves' and UGA's championships say about Atlanta and its fans?

Seaton Hall blowing a 16 point lead in the 2nd half against LSU in basketball in Nov 2012 where Seaton Hall could barely get the ball past mid-court once LSU started pressing.

AC Milan had a seemingly insurmountable 3-0 lead at half time in the 2005 champions league final vs liverpool. only 15 minutes after the start of the 2nd half...their lead was gone and they went on to lose the game.

given that this occurred on such a grand stage (an event bigger than the superbowl and second only to the world cup final), this would have to be the worst second half collapse ever.

second place would be Atlanta blowing a 28-3 lead in the superbowl vs the Patriots.

28-3 was a choke job type collapse. There are other collapses where you just lose momentum, over confident, other team is actually better but started slow and got hot. An NFL team blowing a 28-3 lead halfway through 3 Q in the SB is unacceptable on every level. And it speaks volumes about the team, city, and especially their fans

there's this 1 from this year that seemingly not many people know happened... pretty sure it was on this board though

MBB... Campbell led Southeastern Louisiana 61-41 with 4:58 left in the game

SLU won the game (in regulation... no OT needed) 70-69

How the hell did he score 5 points in the first half but his team only have 2?

Oregon led TCU 31-0 going into halftime and I think TCU beat them 47-41 or something like that. Probably the best game I’ve ever seen in person. TCU also did this with their back up as Trevone Boykin got suspended for fighting at a local bar

Sounds like whomever is the coach at Emanuel Christian needs to be fired.

And Jacob Branch needs a college scholarship to somewhere.

scoring 2 pts in one half and 65 in the 2nd half has to be the biggest disparity of all time...or close to it

This is actually a very interesting story and should have been presented on its own rather than phrased as a question that elicits totally unrelated responses.

So, we figured out upon closer inspection that the typo in the story was the halftime score. The winning team was only behind by 1 rather than 19. (21-20 not 21-2) So, not nearly as bad as it originally appeared. I mean, they still lost a lead to lose by a 30 piece to a team that had dropped 65 in a row, but not worst in history anymore.

OP didn’t say it had to be. Matter of fact, his example is a friggin high school basketball game.

I think he was just pointing out that 28-3 was a bigger collapse BECAUSE it was a title game. The worst team in the NFL blowing a 35-3 to maybe the best in a mid-season game doesn’t really have as much punch to it.

If that’s the case, this is a complete and utter non-story
