He's still pitching in the Mexican league He was 32 when he came over, I remember people wondering how good he could have been in MLB if he came over in his early 20's

You gotta add like 6.5 years to the Dominican players. No one really knows how old they are.

I've heard Pujols is anywhere from 35-43.

Starring pitching was exceptional in that world series. The fricking closer on the other hand...

Going off memory so may be completely wrong but the 82 Cardinals were bad

Andujar 15 wins led team
Forsch
Stupa
Mura

Had good bullpen and the series had the two best closers of the time Sutter and Fingers

Huge trade between the teams in 81 set both up for that series

Some thought that Templeton was better SS than Ozzie at the time. But after his blow up at Busch he was never the same.

That 06 Cards team did have a terrible rotation though outside of Carpenter.

Jeff Suppan 12-7 4.12 ERA
Jason Marquis 14-16 6.02 ERA
Jeff Weaver 5-4 5.18 ERA
Mark Mulder (got hurt again) 6-7 7.14 ERA
Anthony Reyes 5-8 5.06 ERA

Isringhausen and Wainwright were solid out of the pen to save that arse.

Their WS starts though

Carpenter 8IP 0ER 0.00ERA
Reyes 8IP 2ER 2.25ERA
Suppan 6IP 3ER 4.50ERA
Weaver 13IP 4ER 2.77ERA 14K

basebal ref.com rules. It's just like youtube. I go there looking for some innocent stat...two hours later I have looked up everything from yesterday's box score, to Randall Simon's salary with the '01 Tigers.
