I was just hoping it was a knee that blew out. I can not stand the sight of that much less an open fracture.

i doubt he can play again...breaks like that happen b/c of existing stress fractures, and he's always going to have the risk that it breaks again. he should have a normal life without any infections, though

It's a very bad injury for sure but it's not that gut wrenching to look at.

I really hope the kid can recover

Between the two, fractures are usually better for downtime and rehab success.

It was pretty bad. You ever prepped one for surgery? That's a tough one. Leg is just hanging.

Better hope that vascular damage is not severe or the kid will lose his leg. Most important aspect right now.

Most of the time.

Depends on if there is an infection
