OK. He won a lot in a row and lost a bunch in a row. Pretty much proves he wasnt a great or outstanding bowl coach.

Saban went 3-1 in bowl games with dinardos recruits at LSU including the 2003 NC. He won with dinardos players

Then, went 0-1 with his own team after a 9 win season

He has also won 2 NC at bama with shulas players

Half or so of his big games, bowls included, he showed up with a nonexistent gameplan. Not a shitty gameplan, but NO gameplan. It's like he and his staff didn't scout their opponent at all.

The only bowl game I would agree with this on would be the UF NCG game. He had a decent gameplan against LSU, they were just obviously superior. Those are the only possible bowl games where you could have made your argument.

He's just trying to prove a point dude. He doesn't really think that.

What I was saying is that it makes everyone think his bowl record is a lot worse than it really is.
That makes absolutely no sense. It doesn't make it seem worse. His record is what his record is. It isn't like there is more to the story than the stats say and it makes his record worse than it actually is. He legitimately lost those games.

Using your logic, I can say he won 6 bowl games in a row, so that makes his record look better than it is.

Stoops and Weis. Les Miles will be if he loses a few more.

The ironic thing is, he showed several times he had the ability to scheme the frick out of you (Oregon in the Rose, TX in 2006, 2002 BCSNC). It was maddening.

what do all tressel's bowl wins have in common(throw in the 2003 fiesta bowl against kansas state as well)?

ohio state was ATS underdogs in all the bowl games tressel won. It was amazing how much of a jekyll and hyde team ohio state was under tressel as a favorite or a dog.

Exact same as Tom Osborne. Osborne could have had more wins/titles, but he had a pair of nuts and went for wins instead of ties, etc. Greatest coach of all time.

"The Tide was all white until 1971. They played in an all-white conference and mostly against all-white non-league foes. This means they did not field the best players from the widest talent pool (which helps explain why they have fewer Heisman winners, All-Americans, and NFL stars than other storied programs). It also means their competition was not quite as good as what other schools, presumptively USC, Notre Dame, Michigan, et al were playing."

Coach Bear Bryant’s Crimson Tide went to Miami undefeated, untied and ranked No. 2. against Nebraska's integrated team in 1971...The Tide left a 38-6 loser.

By 1973, one-third of the team's starters were black.

To be honest with you, I really don't know why everybody has Osborne ranked ahead of Switzer as a coach. Switzer absolutely owned Osborne in head to head matchups going 12-5 against him. I know he cheated but Osborne didn't exactly run a clean program either with the abundant steroid abuse and the harboring of criminals on his teams for many years.
