Isn't the WC Final usually in the middle of the day? They aren't choosing the hottest places in the country to host the Final where temps can be 110+ in the summer. Maybe they might play an earlier round game in PHX/LV at night, but not a middle of the day final.

NYC and LA would be ideal climate wise (low 80's) and would have 2 of the nicer stadiums in the country to play host to a championship game. I'd lean toward NYC...playing the game with the backdrop of the NYC skyline and Statue of Liberty being shown on TV. Plus FIFA would probably prefer Eastern time zone so that Europe would catch the game mostly during prime time.

Def not gonna bet a bunch of shitty internet trolls any amount of money, but just remember when chicago is announced as a host city your idiot bet and donate that 250 to a good charity or your local animal shelter.

How is it trolling to say that Chicago isn't on the list of potential host cities?

Close enough. Media and TV broadcasters are going to say its NYC anyway.

Same thing goes for LA if thats the host city. The 2 potential stadiums there would be in either Inglewood or Pasadena. Or even Dallas...when the stadium is in Arlington.

Hell, Chicago took themselves out of consideration.

Right, there are only 16 cities in consideration, and Chicago isn't one of them.

They will pick 16...but currently 23 are being considered. But supposedly according to CBS Sports, MetLife Stadium is frontrunner for the finals and everything from quarterfinals and onward will be in the US

Under consideration (per CBS Sports)

Canada: Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal

Mexico: Monterrey, Mexico City, Guadalajara

US: San Fran, LA, Seattle, Kansas City, Dallas, Houston, Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, Nashville, Cincinnati, DC, Philly, New York/NJ, Boston, Baltimore, Denver

Not that it matters in 2026, because 1994 is already a distant memory. But 1994 final was at the Rose Bowl, and it's still considered a destination, even for soccer. It's a storied venue.

Only 16 US cities being considered.

The 6 from Canada and Mexico are already chosen, I believe.

Both of those are horrible choices, The obvious choice is Houston, here is why:

Multi lingual culture

Endless space to build new stadiums.

Plenty of hotel space after the Super Bowl

Sex trafficking hub of the US for FIFA officials

Well known to sacrifice anything for short term greed.

Arrowhead. Mercy Park is suitable for hosting friendlies and Gold Cup games, but too small for World Cup games.

I don't expect Kansas City will make the final cut for host sites, but it will almost certainly be where the US team sets up their base camp. US Soccer just completed a beautiful new facility in KC that has everything a team could need. Plus KC is centrally located and a relatively short flight to anywhere the team might need to travel during the tournament.

And personally, I expect the WC final to be in the Rams new stadium in Inglewood. It will be new and have a capacity just over 100K (vs. only 82K for MetLife Stadium). It wasn't included in the current bid, but the committee has said they will re-evaluate the situation in 2020 when the stadium is finished. The Rose Bowl has an outside chance, but I think FIFA will prefer the brand new stadium over the ancient Rose Bowl. The Rose Bowl will probably get several games, though, since it's hosted big matches before and it's such a historic venue.

Brazil has hosted the final in Rio twice, IIRC. So not necessarily

Thats a bit different though. Brasilia isn't nearly as iconic as Rio de Janeiro.

The logisitics of this would be damn near impossible, especially for one, or even a few games.

Arrowhead. SKC's stadium isn't big enough.
