Ok now I'm cheering for the Japanese because I'm sick of the PR and DR fans.

We send our B team out there every time.

I hope they are all watching the celebration... But they probably don't care.

Our so-called B team should still be able to smash these weak arse pitchers.

These Americans better get like Team USA(basketball) and take some damn pride in these international events. The WBC is actually good, very popular. Time to get our shite together and show them who's the best in Baseball.

Man the players on these other teams really love the WBC, show a lot of passion, pride, etc. Along with the fans from other countries. I think this shite is better than Olympic Baseball

Couldn't agree more. I wish we had 1/2 the energy as DR last night. Our offense this tourney for the most part has been attrocious. If we can play with a DH why didn't we have someone who was actually a good DH? Playing guys like Zobrist and Victorino at DH is hardly intimidating.

I forgot about lucroy. But no, it wasn't sarcastic.

I agree this is better than Olympic baseball. Mostly because it doesn't exist anymore.

The WBC is entertaining, but not good. The US had the best roster in the field in my opinion. But the short series format gives more countries a chance.

It will also never be taken seriously with the little league like pitch count limits

It's done like that because managers don't want their pitchers going out and throwing 100 pitches after a 4 month layoff. If it wasn't for the pitch count, there would be less big name throwers than there already are. Doesn't matter to us though, we get locked down by 40 year old free agent journeymen and double A pitchers.

Right, probably the only way to make this really legitimate would be to extend the all star break one year and do it then. But that'd never happen.

Otherwise, this tournament will remain virtually meaningless. The US is still far and away the best at baseball. If it increases popularity elsewhere, great

I found the WBC to be a lot of fun. Anytime I can see meaningful baseball in March I can't complain. It was fun that some of these USA players had a lot of pride in it.

I loved that Torre Bowa and Maddux got into it. Seeing those guys work together was cool. I agree with the pitch counts, etc. no sense in having pitchers ruin their regular season chances, aka what they're paid for, I just wish guys like Verlander, etc would come play.
I thought this year, looking at the team on paper, that the weak link would be pitching. Boy was I wrong. Without Wright, this offense was downright horrible. Thank goodness we had Mauer.

Anyways, this is a fun little tournament IMO. Just hope it keeps growing in popularity in the USA. Good to hear guys like Bryce Harper offered to step up and try to get on the team if the team made it to SF. Hope that trend continues.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the runner on second fricked that all up.

The 3rd base coach was in position like he was expecting a play at 3rd....

Runner from 1st had to double take when he looked up and saw the other runner had went back to 2nd.

I don't understand why you would even try that with Yadi behind the plate.
