Son of a Bitch. It may have worked but the pitcher has thrown 6 balls in a row and you are hacking. Not the smartest play I've ever seen.

Eh, I think David Wright has earned a green light on a 2-0 count.

It's not about having a green light or not. It's about winning a game. Of course Wright has a green light on everything. Still doesn't make it the smartest play. Also if he is swinging there, he should be trying to hit that ball out of the park.

ETA: As a coach, I will now have to explain to a kid why he isn't David Wright and he better hit it out of the park if he swings in a situation like that.

2-0 is always a good count to swing on.

Dude what the hell are you talking about? You want a premiere hitter in the game to take a 2-0 fastball down the middle with the bases loaded in hopes of a walk? This is not Eric Hosmer we're talking about.

I'll explain this one last time. I don't have a problem with Wright doing that. It worked. It's not the smartest play and if it goes to 3-0 he would be in a better spot. He doesn't have to be taking for a walk. Also, if that was the zone he was looking for, he should be good enough to hammer that ball out of the park.

Don't think anyone is waiting on your explanation on this

Sounds like you do

How so? If it's 3-0, he's more inclined to be patient and take. On 2-0, he doesn't have to worry about anything but driving the ball.

Well since hitting a HR is so easy, you're right
