Lakers fans do realize the non-Lake Show fans on here merely stated they did not currently have a spot at that time for a third max right? I know Mr Perfect is a troll but some of y'all that aren't trolling realize that this whole salary cap situation is fluid especially around the draft and free agency, yes? If this is true what are they showing the Lakers getting back? Would be interested to see where they sit against the cap as 3 Max and a Kuz with only the MLE they had going into Free Agency will be pretty damn tough to field a team with.

None of that matters if ownership is willing to pay lux tax (which im sure lakers are) im far from a laker fan, but thats just how the nba works. Theyl move money where need be when its time.

who will this 3rd max slot go to? Seeming like Russell is becoming the most likely option, or butler still. Don’t know if getting a 3rd star or building quality bench depth with shooters like Danny Green and Reddick is a better move for the lakers. I guess we will see. Free agency will be nuts.

idk. i also think people are getting ahead of themselves assuming theyve gotten a commitment from some max guy. its very possible they are still planning on breaking up the slot. they just needed to make this move to get all of the money as possible

Yeah....not quite. It's not baseball, you can go way over re-signing your own guys or via a trade, but just signing guys and saying to heck with the cap isn't a thing, which is why HOU has to do a sign and trade to get a guy like Jimmy Buckets.
