And just like that, CLE wins that trade
Is this the last season that the NBA will be played?

Still think Boston won that trade since they will have Kyrie for future years
quote:Still better than no pick after the season and Lebron leaves. What if it's the #1 pick?
That Brooklyn pick has the fifth best odds right now so what happens if that pick becomes the fifth pick or worse?

every season may he the last. Especially when talking about championship runs. Early in the season there were talks of boston beating gsw in the finals. Who knows what years down the road hold. its about winning now.

I can’t wait to watch Simmons melt on Twitter after the Cavs sweep them

When we got those reports about Kyrie threatening to miss the season with surgery if not traded, is this injury tied to that, same knee/injury?
Yuuuuuuuup.

Still fail to see how Cleveland won that trade.

This is the worst Woj bomb ever. I don't even like the Celtics, but that just seems unfair.

CLE got the draft pick.
Kyrie future years are irrelevant to CLE if Lebron leaves, but the pick remains.
And again, it was a half joke.

Guys has anyone check on Bill Simmons? Did he jump yet?

But for Boston they won this trade going away. They got rid of IT for top dollar. Received a young PG in Kyrie for future years.
That pick will probably end up 3-7. That is still the wild card in this. But that pick is probably going to end up a lot worse than Cleveland originally planned for.

quote:Which is why I clarified to say both teams make out ok in the trade, assuming Lebron leaves.
But for Boston they won this trade going away.
But to play devil's advocate, BOS gets Kyrie for 3 seasons. Season 1 he's out for the playoffs, so 1 outta 3 seasons is already wasted. If he misses 1 more playoff, you definitely can't say BOS won the trade easily.
Also, I assume he's going to be eligible for one of those absurd max deals like Kawhi is coming up on that'll average over $40mil per year. Quite simply, he's not worth that, so BOS will be stuck either letting him go or more likely paying a ridiculous amount of money to a player who is not THAT good.

Wiz/PHI/Miami would be fighting it out, unless Boston can overcome.
Woe to those who face the gauntlet that is the Eastern Conference!

quote:Meh. I'd say, as we often do, we overrate the difference in the 2 conferences' top 8.

Unless my math is fuzzy, we're basically talking about an average of roughly 50 wins for the top 8 EC teams vs 51 wins for the top 8 WC.

I guess I was looking at it from Boston's perspective. If you look at it from Cleveland's perspective, they won. And if you look at it from Boston's perspective, they won too. I guess that's what makes a good trade.

And yes I know that doesn't mean Kyrie would have gotten hurt if he played with CLE this season,
This was an ongoing problem. 99% he still got the surgery and they find bacteria even if he still played for the Cavs. He didn’t just get hurt

Now, all we need is for Steph to sit out the playoffs as well.
*fingers crossed*
