You know NBA money is crazy when Al Horford is opting out of a $30 million year. frick, I should’ve been taller and developed a mid range jumper.

LOL

Nobody should be giving him any where near that cash. He's more of a soft center, than what they needed at Center. They needed a banger who would get dirty and open up the outside shots and the lane. He was early in his career, more of a guy who would go down low, now he thinks he's a shooting guard with infinite range.

33 year old soft Center who shoots 3's. Yeah i'd give him 30Per.

Kevin O'Connor @KevinOConnorNBA Kyrie Irving will likely to the Nets. How about Al Horford though? Plenty of teams have the cap space to sign him. Who'd be willing to commit long-term: How about the Los Angeles Lakers? Any other teams come to mind?

Rough year but if I were a Celtics fan I’d be more upset by giving him a 4 year deal (even though he’s really good).

Also the Lakers don’t make sense at all.

I think that is the smart thing for Boston to do.

Atlanta can bring him back and be more than fine with 4 other starters on rookie deals the next couple of seasons..

Rumors that Horford has a 4yr offer elsewhere, some saying philly.

Philly should lose 1-2 of Butler, Harris & JJ so they'll have to make a move somewhere. Signing a 33yr old Al to a 4 year deal doesn't sound too smart though

makes no sense for either side. Horford wants a ring and a big payday before he retires. the Hawks don't need to have that type of money tied up in a guy past his prime. yeah he fits position-wise and as a locker room presence, but not at that price.

also, this is almost a totally different Hawks team than when Al left. new GM, coach, roster, and a new-ish owner who didn't make signing Al a priority when he was a FA last time. instead he wanted Dwight Howard.
