Feels like an artificially inflated value. I mean lower tier English Premier League soccer teams hover around that number and those seem way more profitable than a wnba team.

That’s a terrible investment.

What was the value of a NBA team 30 years after the league formed?
Posted on 8/2/25 at 11:02 pm to Cosmo
WNBA was getting better ratings than the NHL before Clark was even drafted

Please stop with Cameron brink being attractive. She’s actually the opposite

That's an absolute waste of money. The entire WNBA brought in $60 mil last year in revenue and lost $40 mil in net income. What retard would buy a team for $325 milliion that is draining through money? This all seems like charitable act which is nuts. Give that to a real charity like St Judes. Not these ungrateful WNBA players.

Okay pay them $0. That's what they are owed as they turn no profit and have a negative 60% EBITDA margin. They're all stupid as hell.

It’s belief that it is going to boom. Rich people are not always smart. They just do one major thing right and get loaded because of it. They can make tons of bad and horrible decisions and still be rich.
The league is going to get an influx of money with the new tv rights deal but their expenses have gone up dramatically.
Their ratings will drop, but the overinflated rights deal will cover for them for a few years. The question will be if Disney got any protections in that deal to adjust it based on certain milestones or metrics.
Knowing Disney, though, NBA asked $100 million per year for WNBA rights and they were like, how about $200 Million?
Professional sports teams are not always about making money. They se vanity side projects for many owners.

Terrible investment
Should’ve invested in a green dildo company instead

It’s quite ironic that the rent wedge issue du jour over trans in sports caused the poles to reverse with one side suddenly becoming the defenders of women’s sports after years of apathy, and the other side who fought to give women an opportunity suddenly in favor of a situation that hurt what they previously fought for.
With that said, I agree that there is SOME veracity to the argument that pouring money into the WNBA - while currently far from being profitable - is necessary to reach the goal of eventually making it profitable. I’d also say that from a business standpoint women do make up 51-percent of the population, and as more grow up participating in sports there is a valid argument that it makes sense to invest in it now.
So there are reasons outside of “societal”.
Men are ALWAYS going to be better than women at basketball. But that’s not the real question. Look at the difference between women’s college basketball in 1975 vs 2025. There is a major difference. I worked with a D1 women’s basketball team 25 years ago, and I can see a big difference in the quality between then and today.
The fan base of both the WNBA and NCAA WB is in fact growing.
If you don’t care about it, that’s fine. But why the need to put it down? Yes, they are aggressively marketing it but you have the choice not to watch! I ain’t gonna buy Bud Light but I don’t get mad at their commercials.

Dude!! I would suggest you keep your dildos at home, they are looking for it now. Don’t be the one who gets busted first. Your secret is safe here (wink wink).
WNBA has never made one red cent in profit. Are you donating tens of thousands to keep them viable? No one has a problem with them wanting to play. Just don’t beg others like the NBA to pay your bills.

The Kelly green celtics is perfect color match for dildos.

Valuations are just guesses, Sportico had the Dream valued at $55m in their June 2024 article. Forbes just came out with an article and had the same team valued at $190m.
