Russ is not the kinda guy who gets to make coaching decisions these days. But he did specifically want to go to WAS so he could play for brooks again bc he knew brooks would allow him to do his triple double stuff. The new coach may not have the same ideas about letting him do what he wants.

Terry Stott's, Scott Brooks, Lloyd Pierce, the NBA is littered every year with guys that are incapable of coaching the defensive side of the ball. No matter how much offense they bring to the table, which is often immense, these teams couldn't guard anyone's grandmother.
Championship windows come and go at the speed of light in the NBA and hiring head coaches without that defensive DNA is just suicidal for owners. And Michael Malone better get it figured out soon as well.
