Really what this thread should be about to be truthful.

If the Clippers put the Joker to sleep in the first round, just understand that in the West, it is a lot more tradition than upset.

How about another take.

Isn’t it easier to pad stats on a bad team if you are really good? And harder to pad stats on a really good team?

Just some food for thought

Perhaps but I don't see how that has anything to do with Jokic.

with him, first round loss.

Without, no playoffs.

Shai

With him, jeez who knows maybe the title
Without, first rd loser

Now what is more valuable

Taking a team from out of the playoffs to a rd 1 loser. Or taking a team from a rd 1 loser to who knows how far?

Since the MVP is based on regular season I'd say leading your team to the #1 seed and a matchup wit the Grizzlies is more valuable.

If just raising your team's potential is used to determine who is the most valuable to their team should we throw Embiid in the mix? They finished last in their division behind the Nets without him.

Not necessary, there are a lot of other factors that play into either scenario.

Next time, keep takes such as these to yourself. I know Oklahoma is new to the NBA but let me give you 2 easy examples for you to think on young fella

Shaq averaged 38 ppg in the fricking Finals. Jordan averaged 31 ppg in the playoffs for his career with 6 titles.

Were the 90s Bulls and 00-03 Lakers bad teams?

Next time, bounce this take off somebody with a brain in person before posting it on the internet.

You actually made mu point.

Jokic has an easier time to get stats on a less than great team.

SGA has a harder time on a great team yet out up great stats.

Kinda shows why SGA will be MVP.

Your thesis makes literally zero sense

Jokic has put up historical, all time NBA history type stats. He’s in the all time record books for this year. That’s regardless of team success, nobody has ever done it.

SGA is in a loooooong line of 30 pt scorers with nothing other than that to show for it, other than historic Free Throw hunting

Not true, how many 30ppg players on losing teams in NBA history? How many on winning teams? I think it’s something like 85 of the 89 times it’s happened it’s been players for playoff teams. When you’re the only good player other teams focus on you alone which makes it harder to produce.

He led the 5th best team in NBA history. Thats facts and he will be MVP. Sucks to be other players trying to win MVP.

Jokic had more opportunity on a less than great team. All I’ve heard here from posters is how great he is at getting Denver to playoffs. Its much easier to pad stats in a team like that. Harder to do what SGA did.
