If you aren't a fan the

But whenever Austin rivers comes down the lane he's got at minimum 2 people mugging him and he gets to the line maybe twice in a game if he's lucky.

So according to ESPN, Lebron can't even post on the OT?

Anytime espn classic is showing a rerun of any of those old Lakers - celtics finals from the 80s,it is painfully obvious that the defense played is laughably bad compared to nowadays.

There's really no comparison.

The game has evolved from the 80's and the athletes are much better. With the ability to watch film on your phone players know other teams sets just as good as the other team. There are guys in this league now that are 6'8 270 and can guard the best PGs in the league. Anybody that says the game has turned into nothing but "ISO" doesn't have a clue what's really going on.

While the averages of 5 game stretches are impressive and show quite a few players had better 5 game averages, I think the talk is coming from the fact that Lebron is only one of 3 players in history to score 30+ and shoot 60+% in all 5 games.

If a player scores 40, 40, 10, 40, 40, he will have a better five game average, but he doesn't qualify for the 5 straight games of 30+.

Also, apparently every one of those guys you showed a 5 game avg at one point either didn't score 30+ points or shoot 60+% in one of those 5 game stretches.

It would be interesting to see what game in the five game stretch MJ didn't score 30 or shoot 60+%

I think the OP was directed at some of my posts after the lakers game on sunday. This post illustrates more clearly what I meant.

I just went and looked at the games where MJ had 10 triple doubles in 11 games. In those 11 games he never scored 30+ five straight games. He actually scored under 30, 3 times. He only shot over 60% twice in those 11 games.

Yes I still think avg wise MJ's is better. But even the Greatest Player never had 5 straight games of 30+ Pts and 60+% shooting.
