Almost a year after Claude Lemeiux broke Chris Draper's entire face with a cheap shot, the Red Wings got their revenge.
probably the greatest bockey brawl ever

That rivalry was the best. Those two teams really did hate each other.

cheap shot
As a diehard Avalanche fan who has a storage unit full of cards, jerseys, and other memorabilia from that era...go frick yourself, Draper was a pussy who should have kept his head on a swivel like we're all taught from the time we can skate!
As an unbiased hockey fan 23 years later...yeah you right, that hit was dirty and uncalled for
Doesn't make me sick to my stomach the way Todd Bertuzzi's hit on Steve Moore does. Broke his face, shattered a vertebrae in his neck, ended his career. Bertuzzi was a massive POS
The hit I'm referring to, timestamped LINK

No Bob Probert, no care.

The old NHL before hockey became PC. Avs/Wings was pure unadulterated hate

Wings still had Kocur then. Probie is an all time tough guy but Kocur was a bad arse

Joey Kocur, badass. Most penalized player in NHL history.

If we're posting Avs vids from 23 years ago, how about:
That time Patrick Roy deked Gretzky and carried the puck past the red line

That was everything a rivalry is supposed to be. Just imagine the refs trying to sort out all the penalties.

NHL sure was fun in the 90s. The Stars had a couple of heated rivalries that involved some broken knees and jaws.

Did I post this? This is exactly me, right down to the memorabilia. frick Bertuzzi.
I would go to Avs/Wings games at the Joe and be one of about 5 people wearing Avs gear. They're a hostile bunch!
