Kinda early for this thread...

As an Oregon fan having seen Taggert turn around our program in one season, I’m not calling anything after one game.

He did have great assistants though and I’m thankful Oregon still has them.

His sideline demeanor reminds me of Kevin Sumlin.

I wonder why...

Is 7-5 really that great for Oregon - a team that consistently won 10+ in recent memory?

He was the most overrated coach according to the anonymous poll from other coaches

Under .500 career coach who has been gift wrapped Oregon and the FSU job

I haven’t seen an FSU team this poorly coached in decades. They are bad in every phase of the game

I mean, this is a really talented and well coached Virginia Tech team that is beating them. It's not like they're opening with FAMU or some other dogshit opponent

It just looks like va tech is playing with way more intensity. Florida states offense has just been awful but this game theoretically could be tied if va tech didn't get the punt block and Florida state got that td that didn't get reviewed.

They're better coached. Give me Fuente over Taggert 7 days a week and twice on Sunday, even if FSU comes back to win this game.

Taggart is a B+ recruiter and an average to below average coach.

He has never won a conference title and never won shite at Western Kentucky...even when Brohm won the C-USA title twice just a few yrs later.

He won't come anywhere near winning the Acc. His coordinators aren't god either.

Taggart will be gone in 3 yrs

Solid punt. Not a great one that pins FSU inside their own 5, but FSU still has horrible field position

Taggert was an awful hire and anyone with a brain knew it. The guy was struggling massively on the coaching end in Eugene and that team took a massive step back in his oen year there.

He did okay at mid majors because he was a decent recruiter but nothing magical, yet was anointed by some as a great coach.

He facts are when everything is even l, he will lose much more than he wins. The ACC is bad but not as bad as the AAC or the freaking Sun Belt.

Almost there entire LB and DB Corp is new. How can you possibly come to that conclusion?

It depends on if he’ll make serious adjustments. Urban Meyer had to make serious changes after his 1st year at UF

VA Tech over the past 4 yrs has averaged 30th in recruiting.... Fla. St. Has averaged just under 6th....

This shouldn't even be a game, Fla. State is immensely more talented than Tech.

I'm not ready to judge Taggert based on this game. This is a talented, well coached opponent. Virginia Tech has a fantastic defense and has Bud Foster with 8 months to prepare. This is not a softball opponent to open with.

That said, I don't think it was a good hire and I agree that he's gone by 2022
