Will we ever see another white starting cornerback?

Shout out to my boy

He last played in 2003. Came out of a big school, drafted in the second round in 94. I don't think there has even been another white corner on a roster since him (probably wrong). If white boys can play Wr, and play it well (Jordy) why can't they play Cb?

Cornerbacks are often the most athletic guys on the field. Super quick hips and instincts. Ridiculous ability to change direction. Just not a lot of white guys who are the very elite in these areas.

Because corner is the position that is the most demanding when it comes to reaction time, and whites simply do not have the fast twitch fibers AND speed to react quickly

White WR usually have one but not both

Oregon was practicing Dylan Kane at corner this fall camp and I am thinking he has some poly in him though. He got moved back to his "natural" position at safety by the end of camp, per the coaches.

I know poly isn't white but you might as well throw out any non black player.

ETA: didn't Penn State play a white corner at some point. Big 10 speed though...

Sehorn had a ten year career at corner. Pretty good one too. If he didn't tear his knee up in the 98 preseason it would have been even better. He lost a lot of speed then. Were the black guys he covered not as athletic as they are now or was Sehorn a white athletic anomaly?

He didn't play in 1935 so I'm going with that he was an athletic white guy.

I always thought the immortal Dustin Fox would break through the race barrier

I think there should be a big movement within the NFL to support more white CBs just as there was with so many advocating the "need" for more black QBs. I'm sure you could scrape together enough white CBs to be equally as successful as the small number of black QBs.

Personally, I don't care if there is ever another white CB. I just think it is beyond stupid to say that there is a need for more people at X position strictly based on skin color.

Donnie Nickey was also in that defensive backfield that beat the best team ever got a national championship.

Even when you step down to cfb and substantially increase the player pool, I can't think of a white starting corner, I actually can't think of a white corner at all.

I saw one in high school but he was a total liability.

Yeah, and Sehorn let Brandon Stokely beat him for a TD in the Super Bowl...

Because the NFL is racist. Look at the numbers. There can be no other reason

He could maybe do it. Would be curious to see if he had the hips for it, not many players do. Definitely has the speed, size, and strength though.

white safeties are fairly common, especially at the college level. White corners and black kickers and punters though are a rare breed

He has good hips, IDK if they are good enough for corner in the NFL, and if it didn't work out he could always bulk up and move to safety. LSU has so many WRs that we wouldn't really miss him there and I want a white CB to make it to the NFL.

Sehorn was huge for a cb. I think he was like 6'3, 225ish..
