Will we ever see a pro golfer go it alone without a caddy?

We need this. It's time. Want our respect, carry your own bag. Be your own counselor. Clean your own clubs. Know your own distances. Kiss your own arse.

Honestly, just the extra physical toll of carrying your heavy bag around would dramatically affect their golf game.
They'd have to get a light carrying bag and keep less shite in there if they even wanted to try this.

would push carts be acceptable under this new system?

some have had their wives do it...pretty much the same thing. I doubt they are good with getting yardages

College guys do it.
But you're right, even just a little more exertion would make your game a bit worse. But if everyone did it, then that would be different.
These guys on tour that MUST have everything they could possibly need in their bag would definitely reconsider

One guy had a portable TV in his bag. Enough is enough. If you are gonna do PEDs and use equipment to hit it 4 hundo let's make it interesting.

Matt Kuchar, to save on caddy fees.

Sure do. And they'd have slightly better scores if they didn't have to.

Definitely makes a difference especially in the tropical climates and especially when you cant wear shorts
These guys are swinging their asses off, the swing looks smooth and easy but it is taxing on the body. Add in heat and there is a noticeable fatigue difference in the last 4-5 holes
I am not saying the fatigue is extreme but a tired swing is a lazy swing and it could be the difference in a shot or two. That being said, a caddys work around the green is still by far his most important work to a golfer

A caddy is required on the PGA, Web.com, Champions, and LPGA tours

LPGA tours
Do they have men or women caddies, or both?

The qualifiers for USGA amateur events (Am, Pub Links, junior-am, mid-Am) in my area used to all be 36 holes in a day during the summer. You could bring a caddy or a pull cart, but I always carried my bag, as did most other college players. It separated the men from the boys.
Ryno gets it
Ryno gets it

Can a 3rd person join the golfer? Like a coach?

I want to see a pro golfer show up for a tournament with a "jam boy".
If you don't know what that is, Google it.
