I want to see OSU with its QB and Wrs
Vs Bama and its QB and Wrs.

Those 2 look the best to me.

Indiana is a danger in every game however

Not sure if you watched this game or not but your statement isnt accurate

It was the biggest game of the week- yes we all saw it.

They had a freshman QB making his first star

At Home

Whereas Texas with a QB staring for first time on the road in a “hostile environment”.

they realized pretty early that Arch wasnt all that.

You use this as a reason Ohio State didn’t struggle with Texas with an awful Arch and if I remember correctly Ole Arch had the ball at 50 with 2;00 to tie?

That might not be a struggle, but a completed pass or PI and an awful Arch just torched your arse.

Now, I will agree they didn’t “struggle” but in last couple minutes there was some a-hole puckering, and to think this is your best win?

They are really, really good, but that schedule has turned to shite with a quickness that I think most everyone, including them, didn't expect. Who will end up being the best team they play this year? Illinois? Washington? Michigan?

FPI has them at 27.2, which is an excellent number. (For reference, they finished last year at 27.9, with only two other teams even within shouting distance [whom they both played in the playoffs, Texas and Notre Dame who were at 25.3 and 25.2, respectively]; Alabama was the only other team even above 22). For comparison right now, you have five other teams above 22 with Oregon at 24.3, Alabama at 23.0, Indiana at 22.7, and Notre Dame at 22.5.

That defense is great; their offense is really efficient. Sayin seems like the real deal. So on and so forth.

But college football is a funny game with a lot of funny bounces and strange stuff happening - it's part of the allure of the sport for so many. A playoff with 3 - 4 rounds against other top tier teams is going to have an absolute shitload of those funny bounces and outcomes, even if last year's iteration was relatively chalk on favorites.

Caleb Downs or Jeremiah Smith get hurt (not that I would ever wish that, but play it out as a theoretical scenario). A team figures out Sayin's footwork as a tell (supposedly happened to us against Miami with Carr this year). Fifteen players get the flu the night before the semifinal. A Cam Skattebo comes roaring out of nowhere to lead an underdog to either a win outright or a a damn close quarterfinal game which results in a hangover the next few rounds. So on and so on.

It's ultimately an athletic endeavor played by 18 - 23 year old college kids. And it's a complex sport with a ton of moving pieces and levels of strategy that computers still can't figure out (unlike, say basketball or baseball). By its very nature a lot of weird shite is going to happen over a 15, 16, 17 game season.

It was the first game, Sayins first start, against the #1 team in the country at the time. Nobody was picking Ohio State and when they won nobody said shite. They continue to be dominant and be hated.

It’s Ohio against the world and we love it that way!

They play in the big 10. That means they play nobody until the playoffs. They are one of the best teams in the country. The best? We’ll see.

Top four easily.

They won't lose in the regular season

Penn State
Purdue
UCLA
Rutgers
Michigan

I don't know what team has a chance to beat them -

UGA?
Bama?
Texas A&M?
Ole Miss?

I mean this just isn't true. The B1G is well thought of as the second best conference in the country.

Sagarin has 8 B1G teams in the top 25, and has 11 SEC teams. That means 19/25 are from those 2 conferences so it's pretty much a given

OSU just happens to not play the other 2 top 10 level teams this season in conference. According to Sagarin, they will play/or have played #9, #16, #20, #25 (and #26) in the regular season. That's not some terrible schedule with a top 5 game likely in the B1G title game.

LINK

SP+ has OSU having played/will play 11/17/21/23/27.

No. I think they're one of the best teams, and maybe the best team, but I think there are 5 or 6 teams that can go toe-to-toe with them

Looking at teams around the top 15 with similar roster talent there are several-

Bama, Georgia, A&M, Miami.

I think all of those 4 win at minimum 3/10 against Ohio State, but they only have to manage once.

I think the Ohio State defense is really really good- but I think there are 2 or 3 really good QBs around the country that could eventually play Ohio State, and really good QB play is an equalizer.

Oh State has the best simgle unit in CFB, their defense.

That could be padded by their schedule right now, but when they play Indiana, we will see how good they really are.

What was the hypothetical in my post?

A middle of road Texas is your best win? Or the fact that Arch had the ball down 7 with 2:09 to go driving for the tie?

Neither is a hypothetical

Now your aunt having balls or not, is none of my business.

They might, but he’s not far and away better than Simpson or Mendoza if he is better at all. I’d think y’all would have watched enough football by now to not be deluded enough to think OSU is head and shoulders above everyone else.

I think they’re probably the best team, but I haven’t seen anything from them so far that indicates that they are just head and shoulders above everyone else.

This is why they play the game. Just keep winning, and everything will take care of itself. I believe if Ohio State can establish a strong run game, they’ll make a serious push again. If not, it’ll be more challenging. That being said, Alabama, Georgia, and Texas A&M are all very good teams. Oh, and don’t sleep on Indiana: they look legit this year. Oregon is also a team to watch.

I don't trust Oregon or Indiana against them when the chips are down. Georgia & Bama I definitely do, especially Bama.

I hate to say this but if Bama stays healthy, they are gonna be a hard team to beat. They look better each week…
