These people are too stupid and close-minded to understand Drew’s simple yet nuanced position.

As if kneeling during the national anthem is the ONLY way to protest.

I remember there was a guy who part owner of walkons made some kinda racist comment a while back and he had to give up his ownership stake. Will be Interesting to see if the same thing happens here.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Brees retired

I wonder if he’s still gonna have that broadcasting job to go to. Pretty ridiculous

So many of them take that knee and feel they’ve done their part or whatever. I’ve been screaming since august 2016 for these guys to actually use their clout, platform, resources, finances etc to help bring about the changes that are needed. Example: Malcolm Jenkins. Not everyone agrees with his views (esp re: Brees statement) but Jenkins has put in a lot of legwork at the ground level to help make a difference. Thought it was fricking laughable when Eric Reid tried to go at him after their game last year. Malcolm has done so much more for black people and his community than Reid has. Actual difference maker vs. petulant passive aggressive Twitter fingers constantly permeating negativity.

But Drew Brees must be a racist; he certainly hasn't explained himself before . . .

oh wait!!!!

Saints kneel before the national anthem
quote:

Drew Brees
?
@drewbrees

As a way to show respect to all, our #Saints team will kneel in solidarity prior to the national anthem & stand together during the anthem.

And guess what? Drew Brees didn't go over and yank up the three Dolphins players who kneeled during the Anthem.

It's like he let them do their own thing after kneeling with his teammates to support them and then standing during the Anthem.

I guess it sucks that Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, and Cam Jordan weren't there to experience this event and have an idea of Drew's thoughts on the matter. Oh wait . . .

All of his teammates already knew his stance. The timing of it is terrible.

when you and a family member or friend disagree on a major issue, do you bring it up when they are at a low point? Most people wouldn’t. He coulda easily danced around that.

frick "easy."

I respect someone who tells the truth. frick "dancing around your opinion." People resent "hard" these days, and that's a big problem.

No offense to you or your opinion, boom. I see and respect where you are coming from. I just disagree that that is the right answer.

At 42 with 20 years in the league, I'd take my millions and peace out. Why continue to play with petulant brats who run to twitter to bitch before they even speak to you personally?

I expect lots of cheap shots on Brees this year. He's now public enemy #1 for opposing defenses.

Brees is gonna apologize, the organization will not publically stand behind him. Heck, it May drive him into retirement. It you ask him if it was worth it, surely he would say no I wouldve answered differently.

He really needs someone to one up him tomorrow to take some heat away but There aren’t many people out there who have the clout to do it.

If the Saints organization does anything to slight Brees then I am done with that city, that team, and the NFL. A man can’t even state his opinion after all he has done. I’m not wasting my time or energy on them.
