Literally impossible to know due to completely different schedules. And no matter how well intentioned, we see every playoffs—helll, we see every Saturday—that we don’t “know” who the “best” teams are. The goal should be—and should have always been—the most “deserving.” Still subjective, but much less so than trying to identify the ‘best.”

That would be boring. Just adopt the B1G model of autos. Let the B1G and SEC decide how/who to send their 4 and the other 4 would be the highest ranked teams not picked by the conferences, but could also be from those conferences.
4 Big Ten
4 SEC
4 at large bids
or we can stop playing pretend and go to 8 team playoff. 4 B1G vs 4 SEC.

Bama is about as average as they come this year. They got dominated by a mid OU team, survived against a bad lsu team, lost to a terrible FSU team, and took vandy turning it over twice in the redzone to pull that one out. Auburn was tied with them in the 4th. This bama team is fools gold if you look closely at their wins. Simpson is pretty good but he holds onto the ball to long and Ryan Williams is having one of the worst sophomore slumps of all time and this is one of the worst running games they’ve ever had. Uga exposes them tonight

It needs to go to 4 16 team conferences split into two divisions each. We need a 6 team playoff that accepts the 4 conference champions and 2 at large teams. The at large teams should only be picked from teams from the 4 conferences.

The ACC isn’t a serious major league. Time to stop giving notre dame a pass, they’re playing an absurd schedule.
Duke is playing for their title and has a 4 score home loss to Illinois, the 7th place big ten team.

Imagine having a team playing for league title that had a two score loss to the 13th place team of a non serious league
