If what Boise's doing is so easy, why can't more non-BCS teams do it?
I wouldn't say it's easy, but they do have some advantages. Being out west, where there is a shite-ton of talent, but less programs to compete against helps them out. As we can plainly see, they aren't going after the top top recruits, but they do a very good job of evaluation, to know which second tier guys to go after. And then they do a good job of getting them on campus, no doubt with help from the image they've built by playing on thursday nights for so long.
There are only a handful of schools they really need to compete with in Cali to get most of their roster, schools like San Jose St and Fresno.
Those same types of second tier guys the mid-west, southeast and atlantic coast have so many more options that one team won't really ever corner the market and be head and shoulders above the others. This also works to Boise's advantage and against the CUSA schools, and to an extent TCU.
Boise definitely does some things well, but they are helped out a little by not having as much recruiting competition where they are.

Also, I believe they just turned down a 2 for 1 with Nebraska saying something like they are beyond the point of playing a one game series or 2 away games for a return trip.
i think NU is the one who came out publicly about this after BSU did their "nobody wants to play us" BS PR move

their coaches are really good and their have a cohesive staff in terms of prep/gameplans
they have stability, which allows them to groom guys
when people say it's "easy" they are talking about BSU's road to the BCS, not the way they've built their program
they're still a 7-5 ish team in the SEC

judging by your post history, you still don't seem to respect this fact. That's where we disagree on the Boise issue.

i admit they game the system and have never denied that

It should be noted Boise's defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox (a Duck) who completely shut our offense down in 2008 and 2009 moved on to Tennessee, who we play September 11th in Knoxville. Should be interesting...

UOs lack of preparedness and a shitty gameplan shut you down moreso
when BSU has time to rest, they can be dangerous
if BSU had to play real teams week in, week out, they would wear the frick down
they're a very, very small team built around WAC speed
but they show up in their 1 early season game and bowl game typically b/c they have time to rest

I kind of remember Alabama fans saying much the same thing about their Sugar Bowl opponent. Some team that starts with a "U".
How'd that turn out again?

The only people that take Boise serious is Boise.
But...when you ask someone to choose between one pile of money and another pile of money, they'll always pick the one that is bigger. Boise State is often the smaller pile.
The simple fact is that all teams buy their home games. Boise State can't buy the quality home games that say, Ohio State can. In order for BSU to win a national title, they'll have to play all of their OOC games against BCS schools (and win). In order to do that, they'll have to play probably three of them on the road every year. They are choosing not to do that, and that's why they get no sympathy (albeit a ton of respect for how good they truly are) from me.

Utah and BYU game the system in other ways. Most of their Offensive and Defensive linemen are two years older than their competition, so they are more physically mature and stronger than everyone they play against. A lot of their other players are older as well, but it makes more of a difference in the trenches.

That Utah team actually had a lot of NFL talent on it. Boise State normally doesn't

bama had to reshuffle their whole offensive line and lost their best player before the bowl
and Utah > BSU

Utah is in a different class. i don't get why people don't realize that

They had their oppertunity to go to a tougher conference and they still are not in a BCS conference. If they want respect they should have at least done that. Big 12 needs to replace two teams now, Boise St. should be on the phone if they want to try and get some respect.

and after this season, the only two teams left in their class will be BYU and TCU. (The mid majors who may actually be able to compete in a real conference)

the MWC was the best BSU could do. No BCS conference wants Boise

people hate on boise because boise proves them wrong every year.

No BCS conference wants Boise, the schools a joke and they bring nothing to the table outside of football, and any respectable conference won't want the gimmick turf.
