However, why don't they televise that? It would make for better tv than the current NBA lottery reveal show.
Would it though? The intrigue is in who gets the first pick, which is decided on the first draw. All of the drama of the moment goes away with the first announcement.

I lean against the conspiracy theory but hard not to ignore. Does EY have peer review on this like they do with general audits?
Peer review was implemented after the early 2000s fraud epidemic and maybe (?) specifically at Arthur Andersen looking the other way on their bigger accounts.

But the picks have conveniently favored teams already considered the NBA's favorite markets

It would need more flare than what the NBA put on in the video linked but if they put balls with teams logos on them in the machine and then drew it would be more interesting. They could reverse the probabilities so that the worst records had the least amount of balls and the best records had the most amount of balls so that way the teams with the beast records have the best chance at getting a low pick.

I know this should technically work, but there's something about it that makes me think I would hate it as the team with the best chance to get the #1 pick.
From an intrigue standpoint it may be okay, but if you were a fan of the team with the best odds and your team got the 10th pick I feel it would make the rest of the lotter unwatchable.
I don't know exactly what, but there's something about it makes me feel it wouldn't work.

Here are the lottery winners, sure doesn’t seem like the big markets are getting cheated for. Almost everytime a big market has won the lottery they have had the best odds with the worst record
The biggest odds outliers are small market teams

Of noted the lakers and Celtics, the nbas biggest golden children, have never won the lottery with their pick.

People that think EY would go along with public fraud and risk their 50 billion dollar a year annual revenue company for the NBA draft are idiots
Someone’s never heard of Arthur Anderson.
