The 15 yard penalty is enforced on the kickoff... all of which just end up as touchbacks anyway.

So why not just rough him up and potentially make him a little gimpy?

Because Bounty gate will cost your team draft picks and get your head coach suspended for a year

Can't they choose which play they want to enforce it on?

And what would stop your opponent from doing the same?

That was different. That was paying players to take out certain guys on the other team.

Your team would have a target on their backs using dirty tactics like that.

I'm willing to stoop lower than any other team. You can't out-dirty us.

Because the other team would figure why not make your QB "a little gimpy" if you just get a 15 yard penalty.

If you're just trying to hurt people for a competitive advantage, snipe him from the press box. There's no penalty for that, so the NFL might not even suspend anyone.

I'm surprised with these roughing penalties that a defender hasn't gotten frustrated and done this anyways
