I was at a Packers game at Lambeau where Brett Favre suffered a concussion, got pulled for one play for the injury while Doug Pederson took the snap, then he checked himself in and threw the only touchdown the Packers scored in the game. He didn't play the rest of the game.

During the post-game interviews he said he didn't remember throwing the touchdown. Favre might soon be the next big face of CTE, seeing as how he isn't on TV or coaching in the big leagues.

I read in an article that Favre couldn’t remember that his daughter played high school volleyball, and he went to most of her games.

Neither Favre or Aikman are that old yet. Just wait.

I met Wes Welker recently. After talking with him for 5 minutes I knew right away I would never let my kids play football.

Great guy, but he took one too many shots to the head.

Aikman is 51.

Junior Seau was only 43 when he pushed a shotgun muzzle against his heart and pulled the trigger. Postmortem revealed he had CTE.

Aaron Hernandez was only 27 when he hung himself by his bed sheet in prison. Postmortem revealed he had CTE.

Twas a .357 revolver, but don't let facts interfere with your hyperbole.

Yet is a good thing to keep in mind. I don't know a whole lot about CTE, but I would imagine that no two cases are alike. Some guys who got a lot of concussions may not get CTE or if they do it might not be as bad as others. Some other guys may be the exact opposite and get it bad. More studies just have to be done.

Maybe. But there isnt any evidence football is a direct cause of any mental issues. What says these guys already had issues? Drug use? Boxers have more head contact, and they seem to have less issues than football players. There needs to be more research on the topic.

That’s weird considering the plethora of posters who said the same thing as I have over the last few years

because someone didn't hold a gun to troy aikman's head and make him play a contact sport like all the one's who are suing had guns held to their heads to play.

Didn’t Steve Young and Trent Dilfer both have concussion issues too?

Also, Steve Young is the posterboy for this, not Troy

I vividly remember his last play that MNF game against the Cardinals where I thought he was legit dead on the field. His eyes were closed and he didn't move. LINK
