nevilletiger79 versus OU812 would be an epic battle.

The weapon of choice would be the first down marker since they both work the chain gangs at their respective schools.

NevilleTiger79, my wife says by her math, you must have been a holdback .

Incidentally, I coach travel softball too so I bet our paths have crossed. You can't be all bad.

I heard that Don tells which males and females can mate so he can manipulate the genes in WM. He wants the strongest stock available.

Oh yeah, Don spikes the city's water supply with creatine.

I KNOW DAMMIT. I CAN SEE THE SCOREBOARD

and i'm gonna whoop yall with the down marker though. that's how i roll

A poster a few pages back talked about a "blueprint".

He's correct, but I'll add to it:

1.) Yes, WM holds kids back.

2.) Check the enrollment. There are 1,900+ kids in that school.

In fact, I am pretty sure there are only 2 high schools west of the Ouachita River: WM and West Ouachita.

West Monroe has more kids to pull from; more people involved, and more folks that care.

The whole community is involved. And the community in WM is committed to winning championships.

P.S. I'm a Ouachita grad and can't stand the fact that we haven't beaten WM since 1994 (also the last year we went to the dome).

i will say this. they hold kids back, every other school in the state can do so too if they follow the rules.

we all know the age limit is 19 before september 1st of that season, so why don't parents of boys know that and plan that out when they start school? i'd rather have more mature kids in high school if i was a parent

and you can be a doctor going to school at 19 as well as 17

Now let's not bring up Bubby Brister(Ouachita) or Toby Caston(Carroll) there, Skippy. Arent you Neville's version of Radio?

We could not get him away from his 1988 Bubby Brister poster when he played for the Steelers.

I have not stood on WM's field since 2004.

Did I ever tell you about all those times in 1996, when Tommy Banks would come up short on 4th and 1 and I would marked the down marker up 6 inches on the measurement? Without me Tommy Banks would have never made it to LSU...

WM has never had an official program to hold kids back like OCS and many other private schools. 2 of WM's biggest names that played a ton at LSU held back at OCS, not WM. Parents choose to hold their kids back or not. Like I said earlier Hunter turned 17 in May. Mickey Johnson turned 19 in September. Obviously WM isn't the only place holdbacks occur. Also, obviously not every big time player that comes out of WM held back.

Yet, WM isn't the biggest school.

Lafayette 2,355
Jesuit 2,242
Byrd, C.E. 2,230
Catholic - B.R. 2,050
Brother Martin 1,956
West Monroe 1,943
Comeaux 1,931
Barbe 1,925
Sulphur 1,924
Denham Springs 1,864
Dutchtown 1,829

Schools with either more or around 100 students less than WM. Lafayette is by far the biggest school. They need to be broken up. I mean look at how they dominate every sport. Oh wait...

Than who?

Ok...so WM should have less people care and get involived in the program?

Ahhhh now it makes sense. Ouachita was good when Richwood closed, Wossman as well. Ever since Richwood opened back up, both teams have taken a nose dive.

Maybe everyone will get their wish soon though. I have been told by some at West Ouachita that they are trying to get Riser junior high to go to WO instead of WM. That is generally where WM's running backs come from, so keep your fingers crossed Monroe peeps.

And lost to Hahnville if I recall.

The enrollment numbers are sightly misleading for Jesuit and Brother Martin since they're all-boys schools. Actual enrollment at both of those schools is only half of what is shown. Not sure about Catholic High, but that would make WM the 4th largest school in the state by enrollment. So, that means WM has more kids to pull from than every other school in the state except Lafayette, Byrd and Catholic. Granted, just because you have a larger population to choose from, that doesn't guarantee success. There is definitely a lot more work that goes into it than that.

Yep, great game. I was on the floor of the Dome in the marching band watching the first Hahnville play from scrimmage - 80 yard bomb for a TD. Shocked everyone since Hahnville was an extremely run-heavy team.
