There's nothing special in the water in West Monroe. It's not the coaching. It's not the facilities. They're just a public high school that manipulates the system better than any other public high school.

Hmm lets see...because all of the other schools in Louisiana follow the rules and do not hold kids back.

Last years WM team would have rivaled any team in the country.

Why? They would have pounded the ball with their 5 three hundred pounders on the oline. It would have been boring but last years team DIDNT screw up. They moved the ball when they wanted too. And the defense wasnt too shabby either

Back on topic. THE main reason WM has been such a great program is because when Shows was hired in 1993 his FIRST hire was Casey Sanders (strength coach) Sanders is the best strength coach in the nation at the high school level. He has earned the award three times now. He was actually offered the LSU strength coach job a couple of years back but decided to keep his position at WM to coach his four sons.

More and more programs are following in WM's footsteps and incorporating the "WM system".

sure we care a lot about football in North LA. But you care enough to discuss it on a message board. In the words of the great Hot Carl: tomato tomahto

actually i don't think WM would even be 5A in Texas...

i will say this. i think it's simply due to the strength programs plus they have bigger athletes there. just like we all say Louisiana doesn;t produce certain positions, well North LA isn't really LA WM produces the positions that south LA can't.

i don't buy the theory of putting your best athletes on D. then you lose a lot of low scoring games

JT Curtis calls BS on this.

After playing them (JC) a couple of weeks ago, I can tell you that a team of 16-17 year olds playing a team of 18-19 year olds makes a pretty big difference.

easiest schedule, wtf are you smoking, been in this state for 30 years and the state champions have always come from this district, most of the time, two teams from the same district. Monroe/WM own the state in FB. Best game in the state last year was WM vs Neville. What a dumb frick

Lie. West Monroe is almost always the biggest, and oldest team on the field. 19 year olds tend to be stronger than 17 year olds. There were many 5 star offensive and defensive lineman and linebackers that either flopped or had only fair success in college because when they were 20-21 years old they were playing against other 20-21 year olds.

Of course, those 5 star fullbacks were still studs in college and shoved it right down Florida's throats.

but i thought wm homers are always bragging that they have the best players around, the best coaches etc...becareful what you say or shows will take your season tickets away. and another thing i find it funny that rebel fans were talking trash about hoover high and panola telling them to bring it on and later that same day next years scheduled was finalized and published..what a coincident.

What about Bastrop? Anyway, you are referring to the old 2-5A district. That district represented at least one side of the old 4A/new 5A championship from 1982-2005 except for 3 times. That was the best football district in Louisiana and probably the country for many decades.
