Are Tampa and Miami even trying or are they just sucking off the teet of MLB's revenue distribution?

MLB Attendence

29 Tampa Bay Avg. 14,062
30 Miami Avg. 10,567

The Marlins havent had a winning season in NINE years.
Sorry, just dont see how new ownership is gonna fix their situation and Tampa has a horrible stadium situation.

N.O. has a semi-pro team with the OUCH, "Baby Cakes"---dumb name for a ball team by the way.

I'd not want to be in those stands in the daytime when they play and it's in the 90's and the humidity is in the 50-70% range. Same with Miami and Tampa.

And it isn't much better at night either except the sun is down, but still hot and humid.

The Rays play in a dome and the Marlins' stadium has a retractable roof.

Both franchises basically slapped their fans in the face with their off-season moves.

But 10k fans for Miami when the Miami metro population is like 6mil is just incredible.

Well, the Marlins have the worst record in the NL, just gutted their roster and traded their best player who was loved in Miami, wont spend the money on payroll to compete, and just to insult the fans stuck them with about a billion dollars in taxes to pay for the stadium.

Hardly conducive actions for fan support.

Even when they won the World Series they averaged 16k fans a game, good enough to only beat out Tampa Bay and Montreal.

In 97 they at least finished 11th with 29k a game.

I can’t believe that 10 thousand people each game are actually going to watch Marlins baseball this season

Heat were #6 in attendance last year (Pelicans were 25).

Dolphins were #16.

And neither were very good last year.

That was also at an outdoor stadium in Miami in the summer. I went to 2 games there. One opening day, one in the middle of the summer. Said nope, nope nope to ever going to another summer day game there.

Miami was a 6th seed, is that not considered good anymore?

And this was the THIRD time it's happened to the Marlins in the past 20 years.

Meanwhile, NOP went 48-34.

I miss Joe Robbie out of nostalgia and catching the occasional Marlins game with my uncle who lived in Boca but it was AWFUL for baseball.
