So now people have realized how dumb parroting Cowherd's argument was to devalue Steph they have moved on to Kawhi?

I don't care, I just find it hilarious how mad Bron fanboys got over who finished SECOND in MVP voting. You're a prime example.
I was just happy about the KL B2B DPOY.

Lebron averaged 4 more points a game, 4 more assists per game, 1 more rebound a game, 1 point higher PER, and 2% higher field goal %
He led in fricking everything. The argument doesnt work with Steph because Steph actually performed better. Leonard didnt

Lebron is better
I think Lebron when he wants to be, is every bit as good defensively(or at least in that realm) as Kawhi. But you have to base it on what actually happened, and during the season, we all know Lebron doesn't place much of an emphasis on playing all out defensively over the entire year.
I have no issue giving the overall performance nod to Lebron, but when you factor in all of the numbers and defense, I don't really have a problem giving it to Kawhi either. Meaning, it's closer than you're making it out to be IMO.
So yea, Lebron is better and more valuable and as dumb as it sounds, that doesn't automatically make him a better MVP candidate

Kawhi was more efficient, more WS/48, and the gap in defense is substantial, and there's no "normal" metric you can point to so we ignore half of the game basically because of that.

Played more minutes and had higher usage. Their PER 36 numbers are largely identical despite the gap in usage.
There might be a reason they were 3 damn points apart in the voting.
The only real gap is an assists for Lebron and net rating for Kawhi.

Kawhi's net rating was 25. That is just out of this world good. It was better than Steph's even.

Lebron- 25.3 pts/game 6.8 assist/game 7.4 R/g 27.67 per 52%
Leonard- 21.2 pts/game 2.6assist/game 6.8 r/g 26.11 per 50%
Leads every category. Leads points and assists by a sizable margin

Seriously I love the picking and choosing of stats by people in these discussions.

Being the 2nd best player in the league, at worst.
As always, there is always downward pressure on players that represent the status quo. As soon as someone new gets close, they'll get the nod. Remember, Rose once won the MVP over LeBron.
It will happen with Curry in time too. I like Kawhi, and he is the best player on the 2nd best team in the NBA regular season, so I won't freak out about the MVP voting going the way it did, but make no mistake - LeBron is a better player than Kawhi Leonard right now.

So, like pretty much every Spur outside of Duncan under Pop?

If anything, that makes his production even MORE impressive. Think about it.

I'm assuming BBall reference was what the 2nd or 3rd result when you did this google search? They list a few more numbers iirc.

So does that mean KD is better than Lebron?
28.2ppg / 8.2 reb / 5.0assist / 28.25per
