re: Why is Ferrari so incompetent as an F1 team?

In a perfect world - Max would be at Mercedes, Kimi Antonelli would be at Ferrari, Lewis would be at McLaren, and Oscar Piastri would be at Red Bull.
I know this sounds crazy, but I now can’t confidently say that Max is the most talented driver in the world without Palou on the grid. What he’s done in a spec series is honestly hard to process.

Honestly, I used to hate Max for his immature attitude and how he treated Checo before 2023 (who practically handed the 2021 title to Max by blocking Hamilton in Abu Dhabi)
Stop with this shite already. Everyone comes out with the same nonsense as if there isn't a full season outside of one race.
Forget that Hamilton cut the corner in lap 1 without penalty and that was the only reason we had any drama to begin with.
Forget Hungary. (Bottas takes him out)
Forget Silverstone. (Lewis takes him out)
Forget Baku.
Max led more laps and had more wins with a lesser car.
Now, onto the subject at hand:
Ferrari are too Italian for their own good.

“No Michael, that is so not right!”
It was egregious enough to get Michael Masi, the race director at the time, shite canned.

Ego. That’s always been Ferraris problem. They’re the best in the universe except they aren’t

Ferrari is too Italian and too stuck in their ways. They can’t stand an outsider telling them how they should do something, especially since they have been in formula 1 longer than any other team. Supposedly Vettel’s advice for Lewis was to learn Italian and learn it well. I doubt 40 year old Lewis learned fluent Italian tho. Lewis was gonna have his hands full with Leclerc anyway. He seems to be the Ferrari golden boy.

Ferrari did establish the GTO (Guilford Technical Office) in England, back in the 90s, but that only lasted a few years.

It blows my mind. Was really hoping Lewis would do something cool at Ferrari.
One of my favorite things to happen in all of sports this year is that Sainz got two podiums with Williams and Lewis got none at Ferrari.

I was talking about WHY Checo had to defend in the first place - Lewis cutting the corner without penalty. Michael Masi and company caused the issue that played out later in the race which ultimately resulted in him being forced into retirement.
Giving Checo the praise for "practically handing Max the title" is so ridiculous. Max gave him plenty of credit where it was due. Again, it's not down to one race. (See Kimi Antonelli or the inchident with Russell earlier in this previous season)
Then Checo fricked around in Monaco and found out. He was treated appropriately. Max is the greatest driver we will likely see in our lifetime.
Ferrari are still in their own way. Bigly.

Meddling from the top. End of story.

Ferrari's greatest success happened when they were led by a Frenchman and a Brit.

Same here, especially after he got robbed of a title in Abu Dhabi in 2021. Blatant FIA corruption.
Terrible take. Sorry the race ended under green, be mad about it.

This seems to be on of their biggest issues.
Go down the list of who has command of a team. They all have the team pulling one direction.
Toto
Dietrich
Ross Brawn
Flavio
Zac Brown
All had a team that would fight, lie, work, cheat, pull together. They are/were the person who stopped the buck.
As said earlier, Ferrari has too many people with their own view of what is the problem and how to solve it. The CEO's comments that the drivers shouldn't be talking is proof of that.

Reminds me of American attitudes towards F1. Little do they know, we’re an F1 country now with Charlotte and Indianapolis as incubators for Haas and Cadillac F1 development.
I look forward to seeing that take off in the next decade or so. Before you know it, we’ll all be drinking espresso. TD just doesn’t know it yet.
You say that and just when its getting good ratings plus a new US team -F1 decides to put F1 races solely on Apple TV. Nothing wrong with Apple but they just lost a huge viewing segment who won’t use Apple.
Espn is evil but they carried every practice with only like 1 or 2 commercials and then every race was commercial free. Huge mistake as it was growing. They handed a layup to Indycar and Nascar. (Except the 5 Prime Nascar races).

Team Principal. Throws bad money after bad money. Ferrari's IMSA , European Touring Car, and WEC efforts are top notch
