Why don't more teams play like the Cowboys secondary?

Just interfere on every pass and dare the refs to throw a flag on every play.

If you’re Ken Crawley, they’ll just throw the flag every time. Or you’ll just get beat regardless.

That’s what Seattle did in their hay day. There’s video of Sherman daring a ref to throw a flag on him. Saying as long as he grabbed skin, they’ll never throw the flag. Not to the WR, literally to the ref.

Because most teams lack the overall talent at corner to get away with it. You have to be in good position to consistently get away with holding, otherwise it’s too blatant and gets flagged. Dallas has the best foursome of corners in the NFL (4 guys in the top 30 overall by advanced metrics).
It’s worked for most good defenses over the last 15 years. Denver and Seattle both did it very well.

Earl Thomas would just run right in front of players running seam routes. Just enough to slow em down. Overrated in pass defense.

The no call against the Colts at the end of the half with the ref literally staring at the arm bar...oh...that didn't happen!
