I know he wins, but he doesn’t put up good stats like he used to. I thought he would put up Drew Brees like numbers every year, but he is far from that.

He's clearly banged up and he doesn't nearly have the weapons that he once did.

You’re not wrong… but kinda weird timing for this thread given the day he’s had.

Ive seen Drew Brees light up defenses with six dudes of the street. I like Mahomes and he is a winner just doesn’t impress me as much as Brees, Manning, prime Rodgers and Brady.

Currently 306/3, but why doesn’t he light it up?

He’s already had a better career than all of these guys except one… the one being the best of all time.

And he’s 29

Defenses have adjusted to the weaknesses his style of play exploited during his first few seasons. Teams learned to play a similar style that the pats used to game plan up, where yards don’t matter only points and you always have coverage across both sides of the field and play match man coverage along with timely all out blitzes

That atleast is one factor along with health and talent around him

The way his helmet sits on his head reminds of the Great Gazoo.

1) Teams have adjusted to take away the deep ball so Mahomes has transformed into a drink and dunk merchant.

2) Also, Mahomes has been off on his deep ball for the last couple of years. Last year his lack of weapons hid those struggles but this year he’s left a lot yards on the field.

3) Chiefs aren’t very good in the red zone. They’ve always struggled outside of a year or two under Mahomes. When they explosive offensively it didn’t matter because the redzone was once they crossed the opponents 40.

Yeah I know - what does that have to do with what I posted? Never said they can’t win. OP is asking why they aren’t lighting up the score board like they used to.

Defenses have finally adjusted to his style. He might be the 4th best QB in the NFL now. I had him behind Allen before the season started but he has dropped below Burrows and Jackson now.

Eh Mahomes is still #1 when it comes to postseason play. Allen is a close second.

Mahomes also plays for the best coach in the league, and one of the best franchises.

Pretty simple explanation, doesn't have Hill and Kelce in their prime. Maybe even more importantly teams play back preventing the big play.

Yep. Send him to the Jets, Browns, etc and he wouldn't even put up top 15 QB stats.
