Go tell their athletes that. They'd laugh at your arse and beat the shite out of you.

Their teams strive to be technically precise and perfectly in sync to overcome odds that are stacked against them so they can prevail against teams that are physically superior. I don't view that as "them getting beat up", I think that sounds like a pretty good lesson for the academies to learn.

Hey, people who we send to war to defend our freedom, you're good enough for that, but would you mind rethinking this whole playing major college football thing? Yeah, you're average most of the time, but why don't you go play with someone below you, so you'll have a chance at national championships.

In their eyes, it would be like saying we're not good enough to go after Russia and China. Let's try our luck with Uganda and Morocco.

A little over 30 years. I just don't like seeing the academies get beaten up. Navy has been decent, but Notre Dame beat them by 42 last year. I believe if the academies dropped down, they would be national championship contenders every year (instead of hoping to get in a lower level bowl). There is no reason for them to compete on the FBS level. They have restrictions no one else has to deal with and they shouldn't need the money. I don't see how it would be a negative for them. There is no shame in it. I'm proud when they do well and I want them to have more sucess..

I promise you that they aren't generating profit from athletics. They're likely willing to spend more money to keep up with FBS because of the marketing advantage of playing at the highest level. FBS schools, even the less successful ones, have a much better chance of national exposure.

No, more like back in the day when all of the colleges' players were fighting Nazis. Army won the AP title in '44 &'45, I think Navy was 2nd one or both of those years.

Army was still a winning program before and after WWII.
