Ehh. A lot of people say they support equality, because they know they'll be a social pariah if they don't at least come out and say it.
When you put it on a uniform, it does say something more. How much more? I don't know.
I, personally, think it's pretty fricking cool that a person with no dog in the fight would be willing to wear a message of love like that. Good on you, Iowa Hawkeyes. I wish you were better at basketball so we could see those uniforms at a regional final or Final Four.
Instead, we just have to hold the message in our hearts: "Remember that team that got whooped in the first round? They didn't think saying black people being equal to white people was a controversial message."

No. The State attorney general settled a shakedown initiated in 2020 because the cost of continuing the legal battle outweighed the payout. The Iowa football program wanted to keep fighting it.
If rules about being on time, dressing appropriately, etc. are racist then the definition of racism has gotten very skewed.
As to "equality" on the back of the jerseys, never should have put it on there. Now if the team takes "equality" off the jersey they are racist. Just can't win at this point.

I have no interest in understanding why people oppose equality, or why a team having “equality” on a jersey would bother someone. I’m sure it has something to do with the racist white people on this board linking the entire thing to black people, which obviously is a problem for you guys.
