Aaron Donald is so valuable to his team you could make the argument a healthy Donald could have he carried them to past the second round of the playoffs with Jared Goff as the QB.
Everytime Donald wasn't in the game during the playoffs and on the sidelines, the announcers acted like the Rams had no shot to stop any play or win the game.

He's one of those ultimate game changers. If you think it's hype, that's up to you.

EHHHHHHHHH.
I'm not saying that they aren't different positions, but it's not like he's playing nose tackle in a Belichick 34. Brockers handles most of those duties so Aaron Donald can use his speed against guards who are generally not designed to handle an athlete like him.
And yes I realize he gets double teamed, but let's not act like teams don't double and chip TJ Watt constantly either.
Imagine calling yourself a football fan and thinking Aaron Donald only lines up on the interior of the defensive line.

He lines up all over the place, but he's predominantly featured as a 3 technique DT, unless I'm heavily mistaken.
Am I supposed to give Watt credit for probably playing a 5, 7, and wide 9 depending on the call?

Yeah those aaron donald numbers coming from a triple teamed defensive tackle are pretty much the best ever for the position.

Because he is?
Only one of them has actually been a MVP candidate though.

Lions wanted Aaron Donald as part of Matthew Stafford trade

I mean if you don’t ask, you don’t get. Gotta ask

Ain’t no stat for impact though JJ

Not near the rate Donald does, which is the main argument

People are also ignoring Donald doesn't drop back in pass coverage and Watt did. I think Watt had a drop back coverage rate of 10%.

Ok you can use that for double team rate argument. But Donald still won his double team rate at a much higher % compared to Watt.

Also comparing stats from a edge pass rusher and a defensive tackle is pretty comical
Donald plays everywhere. A lot of time they move him to the weakest link on the line but he probably should win this award every year. Everybody knows he is the best.
